Anyone who thinks that needs to put down the stuff they are smoking and tune into some reality.

This isn't really a question for you then. But for everyone else, what if the unthinkable happens and we have a terrible season? Like, #1 pick terrible?

I think that is possible with a couple ofr key injuries.

Because of Brooks' salary we know he would probably be gone,

Correct.

and A-Mac gets minimal time in mop up duty so gets to play some, but possibly is not ready to start.

I hope not. If this team were 1-8 or something like that I think the kid should get some considerable playing time in the latter half of the season. Personally I'd do exactly that Coughlin did in New York. However they were 5-4 when they made the switch.

The assumption would be Haslett would be gone. SO with a new coach, and maybe new FO, do you think they should take Leinart with that number one pick? He's a stud QB, possibly a Peyton Manning type who has won it all twice in college, even without his best receiver. Even without a new coach or FO, do you take the shot on Leinart? Could be the quarterback here for the next 10 years. I don't think there is a DT in next year's draft worth number one overall, so do you pull a Deuce, draft Leinart even though you have A-Mac, and make him our guy?
|
A-Mac is an unknown quantity. Leinart has played in Norm Chow's pro offense under a former NFL head coach. Carson Palmer has shown that it isn't just a system.
I'd pull the trigger.

Just a though, not saying this would happen, but would you want Leinart?

I wonder if anyone has two picks in the first round next season?
