Be patient. The Saints are having a solid offseason and aren\'t done by any account.

How do you figure it is a solid off-season? Here\'s what I\'ve seen:

They signed a no-name qb to compete for the 3rd string job, and let the second string guy who could have been the first string guy leave.

They spent $30 million bringing in a good player to take the spot of another good player b/c they had allienated the original good player so badly he didn\'t want to stay even if it meant being paid at the third highest level amongst everyone to play his position in the entire league. Of yeah, this is the second year in a row that we\'ve had to make a change at this position.

They brought in a could-be player to take over at a position we desperately need a definitely-is player. This could-be may turn out to be good, or like most Saints experiments, a coulda-woulda-shoulda.

Finally, aside from a punter (woo-hoo) they brought in a has-been to compete for the number two spot in an area where the number one player in the league is available for something we have two of. But instead of parting with one of our two, we will probably use it in the draft to pick up a player that plays the exact same position at a much lesser level than this other player who is available, and our player will probably end up blowing out his knee, effectively ending his career.

Solid baby.

You\'re putting the blame on the organization for everything. I don\'t think they\'re innocent, but some of the things listed were beyond their control. Turley is a head-case. We\'ve known that for the past two years. He sucked the final 3-4 games of the season because he gave up. The Saints did what they could to sign him and keep him here, but he wants to leave anyway. You can put the blame on Jim, but hell, most of the players that have played for Parcells hate him, but know he\'s a good coach, and decide not to let that effect their play. Haslett is a good coach, he just has a horrible defensive coordinator. I miss Zook. I like the fact that since they knew that they were not going to bring Turley back after next season, they went out and got the best available LT in free agency.
We keep talking about Woodson like he was on his way here, but the fact is, we don\'t know what is going on with him and the Raiders. I think Davis let that little tidbit leak out to see if he could get any outrageous offers for him. Like you stated in another post, probably see if anyone would come to him with two first rounders (hey, ludicrous trades have happened in the past, ala Herschel Walker, Ricky Williams). Would you trade him for 2 first rounders and a few other picks? If I was Davis, I would. Would I trade him for a single first rounder? No way- Davis won\'t let a 26 year old all pro premiere shutdown cornerback go for a single first round draft pick. No team would.

The waiting drove me mad....

Black and Blue have said alot about who isn\'t to blame and what we haven\'t done. I am waiting to hear suggestions. We have signed crap..........point blank. Who else is to blame? The organization makes all of the decisions. The Redskins jumped right out and got aggresive The alleged sexual offender we just signed was a terrible move. No,there has been no word about Woodson, we are merely making comments as a wish list. we are sitting here as fans, watching some great picks go elsewhere. Why bring in a guy to replace Turley? As far as him being a head case,I feel he has a great passion and needs to curb his emotions. If emotions make one a head case, sign me up for the lithium program. The Gandy move is equal to whom the Saints have made hate our program,he may not even be equal. As far as Turley quitting the last few games, i certainly don\'t think he was the only one. This off season was far from solid. It has been down right pathetic. If I forgot to address anything let me know.

Don't want em to get your goat don't show em where it's hid.

I\'m not overly impressed with the movement the club has made, but I\'ll say this, it\'s movement in areas we are weak. Would you rather the front office sit back and watch the Free Agency season without any movement or interest in players? Take our roster as the season ended and take our roster today. On paper we are better today with Berger over Gowin, Ruff over Clemons (at MLB only), Ambrose over Irvin, Bouman over a guy who was leaving for a shot at a starting role no matter what, and I feel the Gandy/ Turley is a wash. Gandy doesn\'t have as many pros as Turley but he also has less cons.
The team is not done for certain and by not shooting their load before they see how the draft plays out is smart. There will be cap casualties before training camp starts and there is a good chance the guy we could have signed two weeks ago is not as good or as cheap as the guy we may sign in two months.
Just relax. I\'ll ***** when we take the field with less talent and more holes than we played with last year.
