Sounded like 3 of them were for Drew but it was NFL politically correct to say that.

Re: Reggie Bush defends Brees as better than P. Manning

Statistically no.

When you compare the two, Manning goes down as the most statistically dominant NFL quarterback in history.

I think Peyton truly is the GOAT when it's all said and done. I don't care about the ring argument. STATISTICALLY, Manning at his peak between 2003 to 2006 is the most dominant QB play in numbers. This was before the defenseless receiver rule which is something huge to take into consideration.

The one argument against Brees in GOAT debates is that he has the yards, but lacks the touchdowns. This is the big comparison with him and Dan Marino regarding 1984 vs 2011. Brees threw nearly 100 more passes than Marino that year, and yet didn't surpass him in touchdowns.

I think Brees and Brady are a better comparison together in terms of numbers in advanced stats. They're nearly identical in most stats with one just barely edging out the other in almost every stat category besides yards where Brees has a wide dominance over.

As for Manning, I like to compare him to Aaron Rodgers more. Why? Cause Rodgers was propped up as the GOAT for a bit and in terms of stats, Peyton is pretty much the anti-Aaron Rodgers. They are such complete opposites in any statistic metric, it's insane to look at. My favorite random Manning vs Rodgers stat is that in just 3 years combined in a streak(2003, 2004, 2005) Manning had more first downs than Rodgers has thrown for in his entire career.

When it's all said and done though; I think it's fitting that Brees and Manning have a similar playoff record. It really goes to defeat all the nonsense you hear about "choke jobs" with top QBs. People scream at me when I make this comparison, but both of them have accumulated many playoff losses where they played exceptionally well, even leading giant comeback attempts, only to fall short due to some boneheaded mistakes by defense and/or special teams play.

Manning had the 2005 playoff loss to Pittsburgh where he led a big comeback and both the defense and kicker screwed it all up for them. Brees had this in 2011 and 2017.

Manning has the 2008 playoff loss to San Diego where he actually played very well all through out that game. On the road in San Diego, he led a game winning drive... only be erased cause LD Tomlinson and Sproles couldn't be stopped. In OT, Tomlinson went full BEAST MODE and tore the Colts up. Sound familiar? We went through that in 2010. No one ever brings up that Brees put up a great game vs Seattle that day.

Manning has the 2012 playoff loss to Baltimore. Forgotten in all the "but he threw a pick six earlier and had an INT OT" yelling is that Manning actually led a game winning drive in the final 2 minutes and was money on that drive. Flacco's hail mary erased that completely. Brees went through this last year. A bull crap non-call leads to a field goal, then he throws an INT in OT. Both of them had game winning drives erased.

Brees has 2017; again, a game winning drive... Manning had this same thing in 2010 losing to the Jets. Lost in all the "choke" talk; he led the Colts down the field and they scored with less than 2 minutes to go. Then the Colts defense crapped the bed to allow Mark Sanchez down the field to get a field in the end, kinda like we let a scrub named Case Keenum have a game winning drive in merely seconds.

Now I really wish this parallel would end with Brees being carried to a SB win by his defense. I don't care what anyone says about how bad Manning was in 2015. Go through his playoff record and look at all the number of close losses that happened cause the Colts or Broncos defense (2012) and special teams completely crapped the bed. Peyton 100% deserved that ring in the end. Brees would deserve one the same way after YEARS of him carrying this team when we had historically bad defenses.

Re: Reggie Bush defends Brees as better than P. Manning

Brees beats Manning in almost every statistical category.

Better TD:Int ratio.
Much better completion%.
Widening the gap on QB rating so that won't be close when Drew retires.
Should finally catch him on yards per attempt this year (7.61 vs 7.65).
Will also get really close to game winning drives (currently 49 vs 54).

Yeah even regular season Drew is the better QB.

And we don't need to talk about the choke artist that is Peyton Manning come playoff time. His two SB runs were defense driven and statistically he sucked both times. They won those Super Bowls in spite of him.

Drew on the other hand has been one of the greatest post season quarterbacks ever. Unfortunately his supporting cast and defensive coordinators have let him down time and time again. He should have at least 3 rings and 16 post season wins.

2004 - San Diego vs Jets - kicker missed have winning FG
2010 - Seattle - puts up 36 and GW allows a middling Seattle offense 41
2011 - Yikes (unforgivable Gregg Williams)
2013 - Ingram fumble gives Seattle easy 7, kicker misses 3 FGs
2017 - Yikes (unforgivable Dennis Allen)
2018 - Jesus Christ
