The Seahawks make their preseason debut Friday at New Orleans. Holmgren said Sunday that starting running back Shaun Alexander and backup Maurice Morris, who are nursing hamstring injuries, may not play.

Well to bad we don't play Seattle this year this is one team I hope we beat very soon. I'LL call ESPN imediatly and let them no Saints have not beat Seattle since 91

ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã‚Â¢ Shaun Alexander and Maurice Morris, the team's top two tailbacks, missed their fourth consecutive day of practice with hamstring injuries. They ran and stretched together on the far field while the team conducted drills.

"It's unfortunate, but that's part of training camp," Holmgren said. "Shaun and Mo are getting better. And we'll just see if they're good enough to play against New Orleans."

Alexander returns

After three days of missing practice and being held out of the intrasquad scrimmage as a precautionary measure, running back Shaun Alexander was back at work yesterday.

Alexander took snaps with the No. 1 offense and looked fine carrying the ball on what was a sore hamstring.

"He made a couple of cuts that led me to believe that thing has held up pretty good," coach Mike Holmgren said.

The team training staff held a meeting last night to determine which injured players will make the trip to New Orleans for the first exhibition game Friday, and which will stay in Cheney for rehabilitation. Alexander's status will be known today.

I hope he's there. I want to see what our starting D can do against a top NFL RB like Alexander. He's beat us up pretty well the last two years. If they contain him I'll feel real good about the defense, even if it is still early.

CHENEY ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã¢Â€Â When the Seahawks' defense takes the field tomorrow night in New Orleans for the team's exhibition opener, rookie outside linebacker LeRoy Hill will be in the starting lineup.

It's more than the third-round pick from Clemson could have imagined, especially so soon. But he has had a good camp, and with projected starter D.D. Lewis injured, Hill has taken advantage of more snaps in practice.

"I'm excited," Hill said. "I just don't want to be the rookie that messes up."

Hill, like so many of his teammates, is fired up to hit someone other than a teammate, which has been the case at training camp.

"It's all fun out here. It's business, but it's fun," Hill said. "Now we get to let loose on someone else."

As for key playing-time decisions in the game, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will start and play the first quarter, then give way to backup Seneca Wallace. Third-round draft pick David Greene will finish the game.

Also, Shaun Alexander will start at running back, coach Mike Holmgren said.

Like the Saints, the Seahawks have undergone most of their changes on the defensive side of the football. End Bryce Fisher, linebacker Jamie Sharper, and cornerbacks Kelly Herndon and Andre Dyson were added to the club in the offseason in the interest of turning around a unit that was in the bottom half of most league statistical categories last season. All four are expected to be in the lineup against the Saints. Offensively, running back Shaun Alexander is slated to start, as is quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck will yield to backup Seneca Wallace following the first quarter, and third-round draft choice David Greene (Georgia) should see significant time. Linebacker D.D. Lewis (concussion), free safety Ken Hamlin (shoulder) and defensive tackles Rashad Moore (shoulder) and Cedric Woodard (knee) are among the players not expected to be in uniform for Seattle when they take the field at the Superdome. Seattle has won its only two preseason meetings with New Orleans all-time, including a 28-14 home victory when the clubs last met, prior to 2001. The Seahawks also have a 5-4 advantage in the regular season series, breaking a deadlock with a 21-7 victory in New Orleans last season.

I just Pray for no injuries, and I hope th eD returns to form if not better than the last 4 games..... No I Have FAITH they will be a whole lot better!!!!!!!!!!!
