With a win at home that day, Carolina would have gone 8-8 and become the first team to ever reach the playoffs after a 1-7 start. Instead, the Panthers' 7-9 mark was just another example of too-little, too-late. "We just ran out of gas," Fox said. "It took so much energy just to get in the position to make that game meaningful."

Carolina doesn't have to wait too long to avenge that loss to the Saints. New Orleans will be at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte for the Sept. 11 season-opener.

i disagree..horn will light up their questionable secondary with help from stalworth spreading the field..peppers will for sure pressure brooks through the rookie brown but brooks will get rid of the ball quick enough to where it wont matter..jake gets sacked 4 times ala grant..smith..howard..

The Saints "upset" the Panthers? What?! We had the same record entering the game. We had won 4 straight, and last I checked, we did finish with a better record and ranked higher in the division... but sure whatever. No respect, it pisses me off!

I can play, it just takes two hours to finish a game. But I have been to toher forums, and more people are having the same problem. I am gonna take it back and see if a different one will work, I refuse to get it on Xbox cause they make you pay to play online. If not, I will have to buy one of the new slim ones.

What does this have to do with A-Mac? This has to do with Brooks' ineptitude, not a rookie seeing the field anytime soon, although it wouldn't make me as mad as some if he did. Brooks is the king of the 8 step drop on a 3 step pattern, rolling into sacks, spinning and going nowhere. Once the bullets start flying, we'll see it again. If Peppers is abusing Brown, and that's a huge IF, Brooks will give you guys some more excuses as to why he isn't the guy.

No... I dont need reasons or logic, just NO.

We HAVE to win on opening day! We have to! If we can take down Carolina at home we are up in the Division and pumped up enough to keep it rolling. Otherwise, we are screwed. Flush the whole season if we lose week one. We will win. We have to. I'm past Faith and Hope. I'm on to desperation!

I don't feel real good about this game. But, I didn't feel good about the last one either.

I'm going. I am in medschool in Charleston, and got my hands on Club seats on the 30 yard line. I don't think I've ever been this excited for a game yet. We win this game, and we may just have the early momentum and confidence we've needed over the years. Plus, winning two games back to back in their house will put mad smiles on my face.

Their wr core looks great right now with the pickup of Rod the Bod, but we seem to have to CB's to put enough pressure for the DE trio to wreck shop on Delhomme just like last year. I love watching the NFL channel's year recap with all the hits we put on Jake the last game of the year.

i think this is a really tough game. but man would i love to beat that team again

I think it's going to be a tough game, but no tougher than the '04 finale. What more can the Panthers play for than a shot at the playoffs. Is revenge supposed to hype them more than that? I don't think so. It's hard to say who's going to win at this point not having seen either team play yet this year, but, if the Saints D can somehow learn to stop the run, we have a great shot a winning.

Joe Horn will be going crazy against carolina i see 2 Td's for Joe . . .

End of the season game and players are banged up badly , sometimes a game slips away and you get all off season to think about it . Just like Carolina did ......

I believe the saint's coaching staff are preparing for that showdown as we speak. Jammal having to practice against Howard & Grant will have him better prepared against Pepper than most people think. If it seem to much responsibility for Jammal alone to handle Pepper, the OC will call alot of plays that will make Pepper irrelevant. The BIG questions will be if Gandy can control Rucker. How strong will the depth be w/injuries to S. Falou and J. Stinchcomb.

I have "FAITH" the Saints will harrass Delhome all day, a couple of picks and a fumble by delhome against our 05 dead last Defense!!!! Not to mention Carolina will find it mor challenging to run against our young LB's and Revamped db's look respectable this year, If we get them down early you will see alot of the new def package "fast Dime" with all four DE's in the game rushing the Qb from diffrent positions each time, Carolina is at a dis advantage cause they will not have time to study tape like later in the season.... and as far as our "O" pound the ball behind those Massive O linemen all day!!!!!!!!!!

Let's tone down the hype boys. I know the first preseason game is tonight, but let throttle it back huh? We're talking about killing the best team in our division, who has improved and returned a ton of injured players, and who has beaten us 4 or 5 out of the last 6 times we played them (3 of the last 4).
