The enigma that is the New Orleans Saints...
 

On one side...........I see a team that comes out and looks absolutely horrible, to the point of being clueless. Losing to teams such as Cincinatti, Carolina, Minnesota and Detroit (when they were all pitiful).


On the other side.........I see a team that had more success over the St. Louis Rams since 2000 than any other team in the league. I see a team that defeated Tampa Bay twice in their Super Bowl season. I see a team who, despite a pitiful defense, defeated a high powered Kansas City team last year.

With that being said..........is it conceivable that this team could go into Foxboro in November and defeat the New England Patriots???

Too early to say, but anything is possible. Many NFL pundents assure us we'll see a different Patriot team. Shifting play calling responsibilities (due to Weis' departure) and player moves, etc. may bode well for the Saints in the matchup. Time will tell...

Enigma? What enigma? They have been pretty consistent the past 4 years...

Comments like this are so sad, but so very true. These past four years have been the hardest on me as a saints fan due to the fact that they have a team that can win, but they always come up short.

Serious man, you need to come back down a little.

Saints CONSISTENTLY lose to mediocre/less powerful teams that are well in their capability to defeat, while winning games that they, quite frankly, shouldn't even bother lining up for.

That is the frustration of being a Saints' fan, my friend. But, oh the glory when we defeat those high-calliber teams. One day, my friend, one day all of the glory will be ours in the kingdom that is the Super Bowl heaven.

I know Whodat............ I can't help it, Everyone at work avoids me this time of the year...
