well papz, having not seen the game and just going by what i read and what people are saying who have seen the game, i still don't know if everyone is on the same page.......
with 1st team, it's woulda, coulda, shoulda.................
with 2nd and 3rd, defense to be specific, i am disappointed...........
however, i am willing to see the next one, new england, on tv!
then i can judge for myself...........who am i kidding? i'm in for the long haul regardless..................i am definitely not one to say it's only pre-season, but being that, i am glad it does'nt count........smitty

I have something to say also....

IT'S JUST PRESEASON!

Yes I know that's not very comforting...and I"m sure you've heard it before....but consider this:

1. In the 90s....dallas always seemed to be "iffy" in the preseason.....as in, a 2-2, or 1-3 record...........and would always seem to wind up playing in the NFC title game.

2. A few years ago, the Jets went undefeated in the preseason. If i'm not mistaken, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs that year (if they even made it).

3. In 2002, (i think this was their first preseason game).....The Saints lost to the.....EXPANSION HOUSTON TEXANS. And from there, they started the regular season at 9-4. I know what happened from there....but you can't deny that a 9-4 team is pretty damn good, considering the victories the saints had that season (2 wins over TB, Victory over Green Bay, Victory over the Ravens...)

So my advice....just chiiiiilllll...for now.

We did attempt to run the ball way more than normal so that the offensive line would gel quicker. Even when it was obvious the run was not working in order to win the ballgame, the coaches continued to call running plays.

Its more important to look at the battles on the field rather than the final score. With that said, we did have our problems. Look for a better showing against the Patriots when the coaches will be more concerned with execution and scoring rather than individual battles.

i agree that it is only preseason, but it does not invoke confidence for this team and this season when you see the same silly results as the previous year.... i admit i am disappointed by the way they came out as if they were playing flag football instead of tackle, but we'll know more about what to expect from week 1 of the reg. season rather than week 1 of the preseason.... i do get a little tired of the dog and pony show that training camp has become... we hear the same stupid crap every friggin' year, only to be disappointed at year's end

Speaking about flag football, how aweful was the back-up defense's tackling! Wow! I don't understand what the hype is for about Craft. He got dominated all game long.

On a positive note, I am ecstatic that we gave Mike M the deal. Did anyone see the licks he was putting on the receivers? He also broke up countless passes. This guy is definately a star. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make the Pro Bowl this season.

It's important to realize that this IS the preseason. Preseason (especially the first two games) is supposed to be a time to evaluate young talant and decide who can come in and contribute. This game was not about winning or losing. I was a bit disapointed that the Saints lost, but I am not concerned about their future in regular season games. If you are concerned about the season because of the results of the first preseason game then ask yourself one question.Do you think the Sainst are SB bound if they beat the Pats in the next preseason game? I'm sorry, but it will take me alot more convincing than a preseason win against the Pats to convince me that the Saints are going to have a SB season. Don't fret...It's just the preseason.
