Even the announcers mention the one good pass nice touch on it it was fine...

"Backup quarterback Todd Bouman turned over the ball on two of his first five plays. He lost a fumble when Leroy Hill beat Aaron Stecker's block for a blindside sack. Joe Tafoya recovered the loose ball, which set up a 24-yard touchdown run by backup quarterback Seneca Wallace.

On the next series, Bouman threw an ill-advised deep pass into double coverage that was picked off by John Howell. "

"Reserve Kliff Kingsbury and McPherson each had their share of flashes in the fourth quarter but were unable to sustain them for prolonged stretches. Kingsbury completed four of seven passes for 73 yards, including a 57-yard bomb to Michael Lewis. McPherson showcased his all-around athletic skills, running for 25 yards on four carries and completing three of seven passes for 28 yards. "

1. Brooks did not run directly into the blitz.
(This is a flat out lie. I don't know how anyone could miss this. If you understand how the offensive line is supposed to block, then you would realize that Brooks did not use his protection as it was designed. People that don't understand this are the same ones that (when playing a game of Madden) hike the ball, run backwards with their quarterback until they see someone open downfield and bomb the ball to them. Its a complete misunderstanding of the position, something the new quarterback version of Madden was designed to stop.)

2. Joe Horn got a hand on the ball that was thrown down field.
(Yes, he did...as well as two defenders. It was a jump ball into double coverage.)

3. Bouman played decent.
(This is another flat out lie. Yes, someone missed an assignment and Bouman lost a fumble. However, the worst that should have happened on that play was Bouman getting sacked. Bouman had the ball stripped because he had it at his hips. This is a slap in the face if a quarterback coach. Its a matter of basic mechanics. Bouman also freaked out because of the pressure he had and instead of throwing the ball out of bounds, he through it downfield into coverage. It was a foolish play. The second Bouman released the ball, Archie Manning could be heard saying "Uh oh!" That was a move thats common for a rookie. Bouman has played in this league too long to make a mistake like that.)

Yes, all quarterbacks in the NFL make mistakes. However, guys like Brooks and Bouman have been playing way too long in the NFL to make ROOKIE mistakes. They both looked incredibly nervous and uncomfortable in the game.

I'm sorry guys. We must have been watching two different games.

I will wait until the game against the Pats to freak out. I really don't put a lot of faith in preseason. The game against the Pats should be a good indicator of how the O and the D will play. Obviously I'm not concerned with how the ENTIRE 2nd or 3rd teams play. At the most, we may see 2 or 3 of those guys on the feild with the 1st team in a real game. If our entire 2nd and 3rd team look like crap, you have to realize that only a select few will be playing against a team in a game. And to boot, they will be playing with the rest of the 1st teamers.

If the first team QB or RB is playing bad, then I get concerned. I'll save my opinions for after the game against the Pats. Lets hope the Saints can give them a challange.
