No matter what Saints coach Jim Haslett says publicly, he was totally disappointed in the Saints effort. And how could he not be.

Just a year ago I asked former Oakland Raiders coach and current ABC broadcaster John Madden what he looked for in preseason that would give him an indication that a team was headed in the right direction.

Madden said that winning pre-season games is not totally important, but he said that good teams always play pretty well when their first string units are in.

The better teams don’t seem to miss a beat when they line in up in Game 1 of the regular season."
The Saints do not have to worry about missing a beat , when they cannot even find the rhythm ...
