NOOZ FLASH

Nooz Flash!

Feb 6th, 2006 - Detroit

In what may be the most shocking come-back story of all time, the unpredictable New Orleans Saints rallied from a 55-98 halftime deficit to defeat the unstoppable Indianapolis Colts in Superbowl XL.

Some attribute the uncanny victory to unprecedented events at halftime. Wearing a black and gold T-shirt labeled "Fire Venturi", an unknown hysterically-screaming assailant beat defensive coordinator Rick Venturi to death with a half-eaten pizza slice. In spite of the tragedy, Saints fans rejoiced, and New Orleans held the Colts scoreless throughout the remainder of the game to win 99-98.

Wearing a pink tuxedo, Saints GM Mickey Loomis quoted "It was our marketing campaign that did it for us this year. Really, it was the difference maker. We just love that I GOTTA HAVE FAITH tune by that King of Evil, that Sultan of Metal, that tough hard-boiled man-handling super-rocker GEORGE MICHAEL!! He's so rough, he just makes us all feel like little girls inside. We figured it was the motto we needed to become an ass-kicking hard-nosed Superbowl winner."

In unrelated controversy, George Michael will be fined after baring a breast and nipple on television during halftime ceremonies.

MVP -- After accumulating 8,946 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 23 passes, Deuce McAllister triumpantly ascended the platform to accept the MVP trophy. However, quarterback Aaron Brooks fumbled the microphone away before Deuce could offer an acceptance speech.

On a side note , this dispells any rumors that the infamous poster Saintz08 had started on the reason the Saints management went with the slogan " Have Faith " and used the song by George Michael , was because they were jerking the public off with the thought the team would achieve anything this season .

You used "George Michael" and "jerking the fans off" in the same sentence. I suspect you'll be banned.

Bad day?
Sure seems like it.

Jesus Gamber. If you don't like my humor, then don't read it. Nobody is forcing you to read posts. You're new to the board, so I won't take offence after your pointless slurry of hostile insults.

I happen find that little article funny. And if it amuses me, then that is enough. If you don't like it, don't read it.

You could be right , I have another thought here :

The certain similarity in the thought of the Saints going with a catch phrase like " Have Faith " a once popular song title from a pop artist known for jerking off in public and then years later , the Saints upper management would later popularize it with what some would consider a jerking off of the public ....

TallySaint 08-15-2005 03:47 PM

Yeah, yeah. Blah, Blah. Gambler may be havin' a tough day.

Interesting take. Let's hope not.

For the folks that have a sense of humor here. What motto or catch phrase can you come up with for the upcoming season?

All in fun, mind you.

Qui a laissez sortir les chiens.

Simple, elegant, fittingly French. We used to chant that at Saints games to the tune of Who Let The Dogs Out in the Georgia Dome vs. the Falcons.

Springs would start popping out of those Dirty Birds heads. Beautiful.

Not sure what that is.

Hey LOE...I thought it was amusing and I had a fairly crappy day today myself. Kind of lifted my mood a little. Thanks

French for "Who let the dogs out."

CHACHING 08-15-2005 08:01 PM

That was too funny LOE....just what this board needed....
Sometimes this place is like a funeral parlor with a built in rain cloud...
Keep it up homie.

I've been on enough forums to know what happens: 1 person will post something as a joke...and that will encourage several others to do the same. The end result? A bunch of ridiculous, borderline-spam posts.
Man, it's a good thing I was out of town until last night. That crap won't fly. I'm quite sure, Gambler, that it won't happen again.

ScottyRo 08-16-2005 09:28 AM

Some posters just can't control themselves, WD. Seems to me that someone that has gone through so much effort to be able to post here would be a good boy.

Yeah, WhoDat, why don't you get on that. :|

WhoDat 08-16-2005 10:11 AM

Look man - I'm all for joking around. If that was your intent, then my bad, I misread that. If, however, you were serious in your initial responses to this post, then don't let it happen again. The policy here is simple. If you don't like a topic, don't post in it. If it wasn't funny to you, fine. Leave it alone. But making negative comments about a guy when he is just trying to add some levity and start a thread really isn't OK. Like I said, if I misread that as serious, and you were not, then my bad, disregard.

ScottyRo 08-16-2005 10:26 AM

Can you feel it? It's the Hand of Halo about to hit the "delete member" key.

Gambler, this site might help you...

I love it when they play the victim card.

BlackandBlue 08-16-2005 10:32 AM

I love it when they delete the offending post.

TheGambler 08-16-2005 10:36 AM

Was it really completely necessary to start altering / deleting posts after WhoDat said his piece? (i.e. that my actions woudln't be tolerated).

papz 08-16-2005 10:38 AM

Thanks for the link Scotty... I feel much better now.

Can you find me something on the massive road rage that I have?

ScottyRo 08-16-2005 10:40 AM

Actually, I could, but wouldn't that take all the fun out of the daily commute?

I have zero tolerance when you refer to one of my mods as an "idiot".

Confused smiley would go great right here .......

BlackandBlue 08-16-2005 10:55 AM

You'll see :D (this smiley works)

TheGambler 08-16-2005 10:56 AM

And I can respect that....however..

Your "mod" felt the need to add something to one of my posts, in some lame effort to be funny. It wasnt' even a situation where my post was abusive, and he had to clean it up..............rather, my post went untouched, and he simply added his little 2 cents at the end of it.

Bear in mind, this was AFTER WhoDat stepped in and said his piece. I did not reply back to WhoDat after he said his piece, so I don't understand the necessity in 08 stepping in to take action. when action wasn't warranted. So you tell me, was that necessary at all?

I anxiously await your reply. Thank you for your time.

BlackandBlue 08-16-2005 11:12 AM

The right way to handle the situation: PM me with the information you percieve as crossing the line, and I will work with you in that regard. We're not here to run every person away. We are trying to build a community, here.

The wrong way to handle the situation: type a post and refer to a moderator as an "idiot". This will have a negative effect on how you're viewed by others, even the mods.

If you like, we can continue this conversation in PM, or we can continue it here- it matters not to me.

I eagerly await your answer on this one ........

TheGambler 08-16-2005 11:19 AM

No problem.

I realize I violated a rule by insulting this guy's intial thread, despite my personal opinion of it. WhoDat clued me into this........and when I went back and re-read the rules, I see that I indeed was in violation.

I was beginning to get the vibe that people could have mods alter their posts at will, and that person can either sit back and take it or leave. After reading your last post, I realize this is not the case (or at least not what you advocate). Thanks for clearing the matter up.

JOESAM2002 08-16-2005 11:30 AM

Retirement can be fun! However, I am still around.

LordOfEntropy 08-16-2005 11:31 AM

Jeez, I regret even starting this post. Talk about a can of worms.

I started this thread mostly as a response to another thread, where people were saying they liked the new marketing campaign. HAVE FAITH. Well, obviously I dislike that motto. So I wanted a sarcastic quote from Loomis pointing out -why- I dislike it. But as I typed Loomis' bogus quote, well, it grew.

Really, though, the thought of a screaming FireVenturi beating ol' Rick to death with a pizza slice had me laughing out loud.

And WhoDat is my Dad. LOL :)
