And so do I, for exactly the same reason.

If you are playing behind you have to pass more and that also expands int's...

Many times the result for the Saints falling behind was because of turnovers. Sometimes, not even turnovers. Wasted downs hurt the Saints quite a bit when the ball would mysteriously fly backwards out of Brooks' hands. Thats a complete and total waste of a good play because he can't hold on tightly to the ball when he brings his arm back to pass. Its understandable if he makes this mistake once. Its pushing the fact at twice. However, this has been a consistant problem with Brooks. So much of a problem that a Saints' fan on another board has resulted in having an icon of Brooks in passing motion with the football floating around behind him.

Yeah like Deuce fumbling last week.

Since you keep bringing Deuce's fumble up, I have to ask: Are you serious when you comparte Brooks fumbling the ball, untouched, when no one is near him to Deuce getting the ball stripped in a pile of defenders, by a linebacker?

BlackandBlue 08-17-2005 05:04 PM

That's a valid question.

He's serious. He really doesn't like Duece and thinks he is a big problem on this team :|

BoudinSandwich 08-17-2005 05:36 PM

Yes, Deuce fumbles occaisionally. What we have to look at here is unforced errors vs. forced errors. Deuce's fumble in the first pre-season game was a forced error. Brooks loosing his grip on the ball as he's passing is an unforced error.

... comments like this one make fans embrace Deuce:
"I let my teammates down, I let every Saints fan down. It hurts." BTW, I remember that game... everyone who saw Deuce's face after that fumble knows he meant it...

...comments like this one make fans jeer Brooks:
"I am a great QB playing in a mediocre team"

...that some fans not only continue to defend Brooks no matter what, but go as far as downplay or even drag through the mud favorite players past and present in Brooks' defense, makes things worse...

I am a fan of the New Orleans Saints. I am not a fan of Aaron Brooks. The Saints were here before Brooks, and they will be here after Brooks...

...Aaron Brooks is not the New Orleans Saints, I do not have to be loyal to him because he happens to be the current coach's pet QB...

Just trying to get your position straight on this one. You allege there is no difference between fumbling the ball, untouched with no one near you - and fumbling the ball when you're held by two defenders while a third strips the ball?
