Kudos to Haslett for wanting to win the game, but not going overboard to do so. I'm glad he didn't go for it on the 4th downs (and there were at least 3 opportunities), and for not challenging that INT ruling.

We had a football party to break in the new big-screen, and our crowd went nuts on the replay. From here, it was very clear - the ball bounced off the ground next to the defenders arm.

Agreed though, kudo's to Haslett for not challenging in a pre-season game. In a regular season game, however, that interception would have been challenged and overturned.

Note how quickly NE got their offense on the field and fired off a play. Very smart. They knew exactly what they were doing.

I think it was a great call to get starters in and play more to gel and the the badly needed reps against the Ex-Super Bowl Champs. Aside from a good game overall... I was more excited to see the jubilation towards the end of the came with all the players on the sidelines. Looks like a good attitude and spirt to have getting ready for the season.

Did anyone notice how big Devery Henderson got? Man the guy certainly looks the part of a stud receiver. Strong, fast, and he caught everything that was thrown his way. Hopefully we'll see some of that in the regular season and not just during the preseason. He would be a big boost if he build on that second half performance.

I'd have to disagree on people who feel like Fakir Brown had a bad game. He was right on those guys when they made those receptions. The receivers just did a great job adjusting to those balls... one under thrown and one just out of his fingertips. He was step for step with every receiver he was on. It was just bad luck and great adjustment/throws by the receiver and qb.

I'm guessing many people are going to jump off the "Let's hang Bouman" bangwagon now. :P He did a good job out there. Besides that poorly thrown ball the the running back, he was right on target with everything. It was a good thing that ball was poorly over thrown because if Joseph would have caught it, he would have gotten leveled.

I'm not off that bandwagon, yet. I've never been sold on Bouman. Granted he played decent this week, I don't think he's even remotely "good."

I believe we would be better off giving the 2nd and 3rd positions on the QB roster to the younger guys.

I'm relieved to see Bouman play better.

Truth is, there was/is never really a question of whether he was gonna make the team or not, given the lack of experience in the QBs behind him and the fact that he is Carney's holder. Since we're stuck with him anyway, he might as well at least play good, right?

He made some great throws....and even showed some surprisingly effective scrambling ability.
