The moral of THIS story will be: you don't need a great quarterback to take a team to a super bowl.
Can you show me a dynasty without one ????

I said it doesn't take a great QB to get a team to a Super Bowl......I didn't say anything about a Dynasty.

But since you asked......does Tom Brady strike you as being a dynasty-type of QB?

Yes, he became one.....but I'm sure alot of people will point to other QBs with more physical tools, passing ability, etc.

Yes.

Apples to oranges. Compare Vinny's stats to Aaron's for the first 5 years, and you won't even see a comparison.
If it's apples to oranges, why did you compare Vinny to Aaron in the first place?

Wasn't Testaverde in Tampa Bay first and stunk terribly...
Yeah, he was in Tampa. I went to a couple of his games there, back when I used to live in Florida. His own fans used to boo him from the stands. They'd yell wuss for not running it or not taking a hit. Cold blooded.

They were too hard on him, I think. He seemed to get a lot of interceptions, and he took a lot of flack, but I never thought he was that bad. Of course, my view might have been a little skewed, having been a Saints fan - what looked awful to them just seemed normal to me.

Tampa fans used to hate him though.

The answer is :

A.Brooks pass to J.Horn pushed ob at NO 35 for 3 yards

I can't believe we lost Boo and Fincher for the season... I was hoping that both would be able to do more for this team than anyone expected them to.

Oh wait...I'm sorry....I didn't know that telling a story about Vinny Testaverde, and relating it to rooting for your team's QB, meant that I was "comparing" Vinny and Aaron.

First play from scrimmage, huh?

If it's Saints' ball, I say Deuce over the left side, stutter steps, gains 2 to the Carolina 26 yardline.

If it's Panther's ball, I say Foster on a dive, cuts back to the right side, bounce outside, goes 63 yards to the Saints 12 yardline before being bumped out by D Smith.

It does. When the moral of the story is never give up on your QB, and you use a QB who was with 5 different teams and the light didn't come on until his 12th year with his 4th. Next time maybe a better example would be in order. Like Drew Brees. Same team, stayed the course and got better. But of course it only took him 3 years, as opposed to what, 5 now for AB? And of course the Chargers make the pro bowl when his light goes on. But at least he was with the same team. So the situation would be similar. Sorry your poor example led me to take the wrong message from your statement.

Drew Brees, got better? See now I have to jump in. Did he get better or did the team get better? Did he do anything for several years or did he only play good for 1 year? :biglaser:

Did Drew Brees get better? Um, yeah. To the tune of the NFL's Comeback player of the year award. I would call that better. A 104.8 passer rating? 65.5% completions? 27 TDs, 7 INTs without 14 lost fumbles? Um yeah, I would call that better. What was your point again?
