Saints to Play at Tiger Stadium...

I hear the organization/Benson is wanting to play close to home! There are talks with the league and arrangements being made for the Saints home games to be played in Tiger Stadium. Benson has insurance that would cover the loss in ticket revenue.

Which would mean Nick Saban returns to Tiger Stadium Oct. 30th.

This would be good news, I've recently just got back from vacation in New Hampshire where I have been out of contact with the world while in the mountains. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been effected by the hurricane.

That sounds good. I was going to be highly agitated if they moved the games out of La whwn we have a couple of good stadiums to use: Tiger Stadium and Independence Stadium in Shreveport will both suffice. As it stands right now there might be more Saints fans in north La able to go than in Baton Rouge.

I think that is the best situation aside from the Astrodome. Any Saints/Louisisan fans can get to Baton Rouge will give them a break/escape from the reality for a bit. Playing in the Astrodome with the refugees staying for free would be AWESOME but it'll only inconvience than more having to deal with others coming in on Sunday ect interupting there routine even more. But how cool would it be for the Saints to play in your front yard/house.

I don't mean to be a pain in the ass, but...

Let's assume that of the 40K+ season tickets plus some individual game tickets sold, 38K (95%) are distributed to people who were displaced by the storm. My bet, and I could be wrong, is that those tickets were not among the property most took with them when they evacuated. So my question is this:

What will the Saints do about honoring these tickets? How do they allocate in whatever venue in which they may play?

If Benson plays in Tiger stadium, he will negate many of the negative impressions I have of him. He'd be creating mega-goodwill with the action.

I am sure the tickets are going to be refunded for the simple fact Benson has insurance for such things. He has insurance to cover the cost of ticket sales/loss for... i'll bet back to you what the insurance is called.

I would be absolutely thrilled if they do officially decide to play home games in Tiger Stadium.

On the other hand, if the Saints play bad in Baton Rouge, we could hear quite a bit of "LSU!" chants emerge in Tiger Stadium during the games.

I think the Governor mad a pact with the devil... hey send a hurricane lets get rid of New Orleans and move the team to Baton Rouge.

Maybe she IS the devil?

I just read this today...

HOUSTON (Aug. 31) - The Houston Texans' stadium could be used for the New Orleans Saints' home opener if the hurricane-damaged Louisiana Superdome isn't available, stadium president and general manager Shea Guinn said Tuesday.

Guinn offered Reliant Park as an option to the NFL, but hasn't heard back from the league.

The Saints are supposed to play their home opener Sept. 18, the same date the Texans play the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.

"It would be a heck of a lot of work and a challenge but the circumstances are extraordinary. We would do everything we can to help," Guinn told Houston television station KRIV.

Tens of thousands of refugees from Hurricane Katrina have been staying at the Superdome, but officials said Tuesday they would have to evacuate as flood water continues to rise.

key word here is 'could'. I think they are moving forward to move to LSU
