Re: Defense Shapin Up

I'd love to see Vilma brought onto the coaching staff. I think he could help some of the young players on and off the field

Re: Defense Shapin Up

Looking at that list, LB stands out like a big red thumb. We have got to get better there, specifically at OLB.

And we are just filling holes now. After the draft this defense will have a whole new look. Learning the roster is going to be a *****.

I get that but they are both 6 one way 1/2 dozen the other. We could definitely use more depth on the line but at least we have starting caliber players. Can't say the same for the LB group.

Re: Defense Shapin Up

The LB position is an interesting one because we supposedly run a 3-4 but spend most of the time in the 4-2-5 nickel defense. In the base 3-4 I'm guessing our LB's will look like this:

Sam- Parys Haralson
Mike- Dannell Ellerbe
Will- David Hawthorne
Jack- Junior Galette

But in the nickel defense it's just the inside guys with Galette shifting to DE. I'd really like to make improvements at OLB. Galette is in no way a LB and Haralson sure isn't intimidating anybody.

I thought Kasim Edebali was a LB.

He's just like Galette... Considered an OLB but c'mon... He's not.
