Nine Years Ago Today - Brees signs with Saints

The Saints had we had known them would never be the same: countless team and NFL records, 3 division titles, 5 playoff appearances, 2 NFCCG appearances, 1 NFC Conference Title and Super Bowl 44 Champions

It's been one crazy ride, hope there's more to follow

I'd love to see some of the comments on here from before he signed, probably doubting his ability.

Looking back, it seems like the general consensus was that it was a solid signing with some concern about the shoulder, but (in retrospect) not the excitement/interest you'd think ... saw a thread where one poster was disappointed the Saints missed out on Kitna around the same time,

... had a little chuckle over that one.

And to think that if Brees didn't sign with the Saints we would have probably been stuck with Matt Leinart.
