Today Profootballtalk.com reported in their RUMOR MILL that the league  reimburse New Orleans for  lost ticket revenue, parking, and concessions resulting from the home game that will be exported to London.

"From the moment that the NFL decided to yank from New Orleans, only three years after Hurricane Katrina, one of the Saints' eight home games, we've been concerned about the move.  At a time when the city is struggling to rebuild, it needs the financial boost that comes from those rare Sundays with a full Superdome and everything else that goes along with it.

To defray these losses, the league will reimburse New Orleans for lost ticket revenue, parking, and concessions resulting from the home game that will be exported to London.

But is that enough?  The financial impact goes beyond ticket sales, parking, and concessions.  Hotels and restaurants will be pinched as well, and overall tax revenues will be depleted as well.

Then there's the emotional impact.  New Orleans needs the Saints, now more than ever.  While we fully support the league's decision to expand its popularity beyond our borders, there are 30 other franchises that have yet to take one for the team by giving up a home game.  Couldn't the Saints have been given an exemption for a few more years?  After all, the Saints lost all of their home games in 2005; why should they lose another one now?"

Saints Fumble on Trick Play Saves Bucs

Sean Payton waited a long time to bring back the trick play he dubbed "the Superdome Special."
He picked the wrong time.
Devery Henderson fumbled a late, awkward toss from Reggie Bush, allowing backup quarterback Luke McCown to drive Tampa Bay for a touchdown with 17 seconds left that lifted the Buccaneers to a 27-23 triumph over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
The victory gave Tampa Bay (8-4) a comfortable three-game lead in the NFC South Division with only four games left.
"That's a disappointing loss and probably the worst job I've done as head coach since we've been here," said Payton, now in his second season as a head coach. "Obviously, I regret the play call. It cost us the game."
A strikingly similar play debuted during the Saints' dramatic victory over Atlanta in their first game back in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. It was a reverse on which Bush lined up as a slot receiver, took a handoff on what looked like an end-around, then tossed the ball to Henderson on a reverse. Back then, it went for an 11-yard touchdown and sent the Superdome crowd into an ecstatic frenzy.
This time, it yielded gasps, followed by a few boos and even some critical shouts regarding Payton's competence.

Sports marketer claims he spoke with Bush about business plan in 2005

A sports marketing agent claims he spoke with Reggie Bush about developing a Web site before the Southern California tailback played his final game for the Trojans and won the Heisman.

Ben Delanoy said he outlined plans in a phone call to Bush in early December of 2005.

"I said: `Listen, you're one of the biggest names out there. You could be making a lot of money through this thing. We'll get your jersey on sale there and autographed items, pretty much soup to nuts,'" Delanoy told Yahoo! Sports for a report published Thursday.

Delanoy contended that David Caravantes, an agent and officer of New Era Sports and Entertainment, took part in the three-way call.

Caravantes denied the conversation took place and said he had spoken with Bush only once.

"Whatever that guy (Delanoy) is saying is absolutely false," Caravantes told Yahoo! Sports.

Delanoy is now CEO of New Level Sports Marketing. A call by The Associated Press to Delanoy at the New Level offices in Plant City, Fla., wasn't immediately returned Friday.
