Wrapping Up The Regular Season
Where do I send the check for the therapy session provided in this post?
I suffer from post traumatic stress from the Ram game.
A great weekend in St. Louis ended with tragedy.Posted 12-18-2013 at 07:27 PM by MaggieMayTB -

The Road Gets Tougher
RUSHING GAME
As i am new to this web site, I have sat back and followed the chat since I have joined and i must say that it is refreshing to read the comments from so many obviouse knowlegable fans who follow the team as intensly as myself,.
I believe that coach Payton has proven that the pass to our RB's out of the backfield or lined up outside is an ext. of our running game, it has been very effective as we seen last week with the screen pass to thomas for a TD. Although I would love to see more of a pounding rushing attack I havent been impressed so far this season, I hope we all agree on that,
It's kinda depressing that Ingram hasnt been more effective considering what we gave to get him in the draft, I have heard rumors that there is talk of dealing him at the conclusion of this season, has anybody heard the same talk? or is it just talk up here in north La.
I do believe the rushing game has more to do with the offensive line than our running backs because it seems that we do not have success with running the ball no matter who the RB is. Besides Drew is taking more hits this year than he has in the previous years,
Ofcourse this is just one Saint fans opinion...Posted 10-11-2013 at 02:28 PM by soretoes -
The Road Gets Tougher
Speed is relative and with everyone playing on the same surface they will all be slower. Sproles is still quicker than they are.
Graham was the huge focus against Miami.
Sproles probably more than anyone else on the team can handle grass... That's what he played on for 5 years in San Diego.
While you may have just started seeing or saying it this week.... Everything you have said, has been said before and we are still 4-0.Posted 10-04-2013 at 06:46 AM by TheOak -
The Road Gets Tougher
In terms of TheOak's comment:
I just want to say that while others may have said that running the ball was the secret to victory, I don't think I've actually said that for the first few weeks. I am saying it this week, though. Graham will draw a huge focus from the defense and, yes, I believe the natural grass will slow Sproles down a bit.
The good news is Chicago is where Pierre Thomas had his breakout game years ago. He went over 100-yards rushing as well as over 100-yards receiving in that one game.
I very well could be wrong. The schedule is just getting tougher. I do believe Pierre Thomas is the x-factor this weekend, though. I stand by that.
Edit: Also, the Bears have forced 14 turnovers in the first 4 weeks, 8 of those were fumbles. Thomas rarely fumbles the football.Posted 10-04-2013 at 05:18 AM by BoudinSandwich -
The Road Gets Tougher
It has been said each week that the "secrete to winning that week is the ground game", each week it fails, each week we win.
It is simply not the case.
Sproles speed is reduced.... Huh?
Doom and Gloom. Purely... All things getting worse... reread your prediction and tell me I am wrong.Posted 10-04-2013 at 04:45 AM by TheOak -

Sure Saints
You definitely have your finger on the pulse of the team, Sandwich ... great observations,. It was nice seeing the offense get a little more in sync and the defense continue to gel. Next weeks MNF is on! I can't wait!.

Still Not Surprised
BTW - The trend of the defense taking a bit to get going, then making corrections and getting stronger as the game progresses continues...Posted 09-16-2013 at 03:22 AM by BoudinSandwich -

Not Surprised, Saints 1-0
Great read. It was definitely a game where the focus was gonna' be on the defense and I think they passed the audition. It says a lot about the heart of the defensive unit when, with a new DC, a new scheme and a lot of new faces, they stop their biggest rival and last year's Division Champs in the last seconds of the game, at the goal line, to preserve the win,.

What You See
All true & valid points. I am not as optimistic. I think the injuries will catch up to us, maybe sooner then later.Posted 09-04-2013 at 08:08 PM by homerj07
