Being held hostage again.
What the republicans are saying is as reliable a litmus test on reality as what the Democrats are saying.
The reality is that BOTH party's refuse to budge and that makes it a 50/50 blame hostage situation on the parties. If you are going to insist that law is law then you are resigned to standing ground that Democrats should just accept the Second Amendment.
I am resigned to not allowing partisan news organizations and inept politicians dictate my perception of reality.Posted 10-10-2013 at 08:50 AM by TheOak -

Being held hostage again.
Oak, are you actually watching the news?!? Are you hearing what the Republicans are saying? The Republicans are holding the country hostage because of the ACA ( Obama Care ).
Wow. Facts needed here too.Posted 10-05-2013 at 02:00 AM by WHODATINCA -
Being held hostage again.
Barrack Obama ~ "I will not negotiate"
Jay Carney ~ “I can say that this administration does not believe that the 14th Amendment gives the president the power to ignore the debt ceiling — period.”
There you have the reasons for the shut down. The debt ceiling was ignored when laws were made and the President refuses to negotiate.Posted 10-03-2013 at 12:40 PM by TheOak -
Being held hostage again.
Great point!!!
Shouldn't a qualification for being a member of the US Congress be at least limited intelligence AND understanding of how Congress & the Federal Government work?
How can you explain PRESBO getting elected twice then? Is he not currently usurping his constitutionally granted powers with his illegal executive directives?
Once again the dumabasses in the house are threatening to shut down the government over debt ceilings, money, taxes & the Affordable HealthCare Act.
Not true as a plethora of bills were passed and Harry Reid in the Senate tabled them. It is the Dems that are causing this shutdown...nothing new here!
I don't care a persons views or standings just support yourself with facts. Yes that dirty word - FACTS. Not what you here from Fox or Rush Limpdick or Michael Moore or MSNBC but facts.
U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time
The debt ceiling argument shows the absolute ignorance & stupidity of many people in Congress. We have already spent the money. Now you have to pay. It would be like going to a restaurant & ordering a large expensive meal & the deciding at the end you don want to pay.
They have spent money alright, but not where you think. All we have to show for it is greater debt and spending. Since 2008, the Federal government has practically doubled spending. Have you doubled your spending since also and are able to balance your budget?
Yes dear god yes I understand the need to reign in spending but this is not the way to do it (neither is cutting food stamps by the way)
Just go back to 2008 spending levels...they do not have the guts to do it!
Ohhhh - here's an idea lets pull out of Afghanistan how much would that save?Let's not give subsidies to HUGE companies (oil! farm, etc.) & let's restructure the tax code so that everyone wealthy & not pay a fair share.
The answer you ask? HR 25 ... its ramifications will solve a multifaceted problem and transfer a balance of power back to the people, as it should be. That and passing the "Liberty Amendments".
I am soundly middle class. My profession choice insures that. But I am sick & tired of paying more than my fair share when people who make MILLIONS & BILLIONS of dollars are not.
Then don't vote liberal... these types always take money out of your pockets... they need it for Obama Phones and take your pic other bloated federal program.
Don't blame the country's problems on the rather minuscule amounts we pay for Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps & unemployment when We allow the corporations to bilk the country for 10 times as much.
Not a minuscule amount as the Captain Obvious example clusterfuvk Obamacare is. And yes... every penny counts
Time for the members of Congress who have any intelligence & balls to stand up & do what is right for the country NOT what is right for the to get reelected.
That is the first you said that makes common sense. But you must sprinkle in the American People in there, for it is we, and only we, that can make these changes. BTW... that is what Ted Cruz is attempting to do.
I am glad you care, btw, Homer!Posted 10-02-2013 at 12:51 PM by SmashMouth

APPLE!!!
I've had a HTC, Samsung, and Motorola "Smartphones". Android is more durable and actually quite a bit "smarter", as well as giving you more freedom than Apple ever will give a person. Plus the freedom becomes even bigger if you 'root' your phone, but thats just tech-nerd talk. I personally prefer HTC actually, but Samsung ain't no slouch either. Android is the better option, unless your like 800 years old, lol.Posted 09-22-2013 at 03:48 PM by DemonicSaint -
APPLE!!!
I am giving up on the hipster iphone, too. I am eligible for an upgrade at the end of November, and I keep reading great things about the HTC One. It seems to be a beast of a phone, and it is one of the top recommended phones for people signing new contracts this year, as it will still be relevant two years from now.Posted 09-22-2013 at 06:48 AM by ProMallNinja -

New Star Trek?
I agree. Not the same. Similar but not the same.
I don't think they will go for "same" with Star Wars but, like the new Star Trek, will be... familiar.
Besides with Star Wars - Lucas sucks as a director. A brilliant mind a good story special effects that frippen rock - suck director.Posted 09-03-2013 at 04:03 PM by homerj07 -
New Star Trek?
I think the new Star Trek is really good. The new characters all really nail there roles. But I agree, Bones is the best of the new crew.Posted 09-03-2013 at 03:32 PM by Mardigras9 -
