LSU players weigh in on facing Alabama for BCS title

You are right, Danno. They are the best 2 teams in college football by far.

My only thing is that I am now and always have been in favor of a college football playoff system, and any time I get a chance or even think I have a chance of showing people how much better it would be, I take advantage of it.

I have a lot of thoughts on this topic...playoff system, that is.

One of the arguments over the years has been that the players would have to miss too much school, which is a bogus argument as far as I'm concerned. First of all...playing football is their main purpose of being at that school. I just call it like it is.

Secondly...if you had a 16 team playoff system, only 8 would play extra games. The first round would be equal to playing a bowl week. So, after that week we have 8 teams, and then 4 teams would have to play 1 more game, and then 2 teams would play 1 more game.

Personally, I have no problem with LSU/ALABAMA playing again either way. I can see where it might get confusing, but I won't lose any sleep over it no matter what happens. I just would feel a lot better about them playing again if they had to go through a bracket to get there...and there is little doubt in my mind that if they did things that way, it would end up with them playing, anyway, so that's why I'm not all that concerned.

I have always heard and been told that the reason that it stays the way it is has something to do with money. If that's true, then to hell with that. WE WANT A COLLEGE PLAYOFF SYSTEM!!!!!

I have no problem with a playoff system. You and I agree ther whole heartedly. But the selection and seeding of 8 teams would be just as controversial as what we have now however.

I do have a problem with those that think Bama shouldn't be in it because they lost to LSU earlier, in OT with Bama missing 4 FG's. Thats BS. They are the best two teams, period.

Not that it would actually matter anyway ... there is likely a preponderance of non-Alabama fans that would vote appropriately for LSU! The last time I checked, 9 is greater than 6, even if it is in OT and at Bama.

The MSD will be rocking for LSU. It basically will be a home game. All of the New Orleans political cronie hacks have given tickets to their friends (most of which are on StubHub. Still, the dome will still be full of Tiger fans.

No question that college football needs a playoff system.

No question that the current system has everything to do with money.

No question that Alabama is the #2 team in the country.

No question that Alabama, should it do something amazing like show up in New Orleans and actually beat LSU in it's own back yard, would be worthy of all the praise heaped upon them.
