At Michigan State, with the exception of maybe one season, he was pretty much a .500 coach and couldn't recruit top prospects in the shadow of UofMichigan. In his brief pro-career with the Dolphins, he was average, never made the playoffs, had mediocre talent. At Alabama, he basically gets his pick of the best players available in the country ... Les Miles could win a National Championship with those teams, so could Brady Hoke ... so could you, so could I. Nick Saban's a good coach, but IDK if I'd say he's the 'best' ... he has the best situation, maybe. |
Re: Auburn ...
Alabama is impressive again this year with a different set of players.
The level they played at last year in the National Championship was just ridiculous, they would have beaten anybody that day. |
Re: Auburn ...
I was a little concerned about a drop-off this season, given all the talent we lost. But the defense remains tough as ever, and the offense seems to be moving the ball even better than last year.
I hate to be boastful - "pride goeth before a fall," and all that - but we've got a damned good squad. It will be a disappointment if we're not in the title game (and winning it, of course!). |
