Not really. The only team that can beat the Tide is the Tide!

Well, that's like saying the only thing standing in the way of the Saints going all the way is the Saints. Some teams on the Saints schedule would have something to say about that.

Watching Kansas State move up in the polls due to strength of schedule. That measure continues during the season depending on how good or bad opponents are.

Bama has played one ranked opponent all year, Michigan, who has proved themselves a lame duck year after year.

Comparison, LSU has played 3 ranked teams, 2 in the top 10.

Bama has the lion-share of the schedule left: Miss. State, LSU, Texas A&M all ranked.

Just wanted your thoughts on Bama playing a padded schedule so far and the heart yet to be played.

Bama has dominated everyone they've played. If they had struggled against anyone I'd be worried. I also think the only way Bama loses is is they lay an egg and don't play their A-game. Hell it looks like their B-game will beat most teams.

I am a little concerned with Mississippi State. Its a classic trap game. LSU has the week off to prepare for Bama and its just human nature for these kids to be looking ahead a little to that game.

If we beat State handily, the LSU game will be close.

If we slip up and lose to State, we'll destroy LSU by 3 scores.

Alabama is the best team in the nation and it's not even close. That gap is striking to me. It's nothing like saying the only team that can beat the Saints are the Saints. The Saints defense is not good. Their coaching situation is close to the bottom of the league. Bama smoked Miss State and they aren't a bad college team overall. They will beat LSU. LSU has no offense and Bama has the best defense in the nation. Easy matchup. A&M has a good young coach but will have to recruit some defense to compete in the SEC. Bama will beat them easily. The only real entertaining matchup for the Tide is Oregon. They can spread you out and score. As I said, and I firmly stand by it, if Bama loses, it will be because they beat themselves. And with the best coach in college football, I seriously doubt that will happen.

Cruize, we disagree vehemently on some other non-football issues, but brother, we're on the eact same page here.

You are probably right.... but there is a reason they actually play the games. Hope springs eternal...

That much is true, Alabama being the best in the nation, but I think Saban is more a product of his ability to recruit top talent at Alabama more than anything.

At Michigan State, with the exception of maybe one season, he was pretty much a .500 coach and couldn't recruit top prospects in the shadow of UofMichigan. In his brief pro-career with the Dolphins, he was average, never made the playoffs, had mediocre talent.

At Alabama, he basically gets his pick of the best players available in the country ... Les Miles could win a National Championship with those teams, so could Brady Hoke ... so could you, so could I.

Nick Saban's a good coach, but IDK if I'd say he's the 'best' ... he has the best situation, maybe.
