This loss sits once again on Less. This is typical tiger ball. they show up and expect to win. back to back losses is a tiger tradition under Less. Tiger are not a bounce back team. Les just does not have the skill set to put that final touch on a team that makes for champions. But I will give him this he knows how to field 2 and 3 loss teams year in and year out.

Collins is good but hats off to that OL. Talk about taking control of a game and beating Les at his own game.

I'm not seeing the "Saints should draft LF" threads as much anymore.

Here's a thought... Trade our draft for Alabama's D-line?

You'd love that, I'm sure.

I don't recall seeing much in the way of "draft Fournette" threads. A lot of us said we wish we could have him. He's not even eligible till next year. No one actually thought it was a going to happen. If anyone did, they were not being very realistic.

There's nothing wrong with Fournette. His line has bombed. Only Les Miles would try to run it straight up the gut on a team that, everyone knew coming in, you had to get wide on them. But FAR worse than that, is only Les Miles would CONTINUE to do it, and make zero adjustments. No screens, no formation changes. Just telegraphed everything. Fournette, as good as he is, is no different than any other human being on this earth in that he needs to at least have SOME kind of chance to get moving before he's got a bunch of guys on his back.

Alabama didn't look so great stopping Hurd, from Tennessee, just two weeks prior. I'm guessing he didn't have 8-9 man fronts coming after him. Everyone knows that the other teams are game planning against Fournette... Except Miles, apparently.

And only scoring 14 points against Arkansas? The team is just throwing in the towel. I don't hold that against Leonard.

And as far as the underachieving defense goes... I don't know a single Tiger fan who was excited about Kevin Steele. That was a mind-blowing hire. This is why people like me have been calling for Miles' job for years, while others just think it's great to turn top 5 talent into 10-2, 9-3, 8-4.

Absolutely. If I had to devise a game plan to guarantee a loss to Alabama, it would have been what Les Miles did.

Bama's weakness is their secondary, and they can be beaten with a mobile QB and that damned read-option offense. Its Saban's Kryptonite.

I think LSU would have had a better chance in that game if they had let Harris just launch it all game. We were obviously stacking the box to stop Fournette.

Miles is obviously a great recruiter, but X's and O's... not so much.

I guess their OL is not as good as touted after all. Still, you're spot on with the game plan. Les is less in that department.

Although drafting Bama Dlineman can be a problem too... Former Ravens DT Cody convicted of dog, drug, alligator charges | ProFootballTalk

So who the hell knows anymore?

Yep. Who knows if the outcome would have been different, but I certainly feel the game would have been at the very least a much more competitive one. I felt those two teams had very similar talent on paper, with the exception being LSU's depth at D-line is a bit thin. Which is unusual.

Just no excuse not to give your team the best chance. I'm sure Les is a really nice guy, but unfortunately that is not what he's paid for.
