Bama is not even in the top ten. Got some work to do, Hoss.

Either you've badly miscounted, or you are actually one of "those people" who count the mythical championships of the early 20th century that were given out by random people. Sort of like a newspaper declaring someone their national champion. The military schools, and Ivy League schools were actually considered the dominant teams back then, and the southern schools almost never played them.

You could go undefeated, but if you weren't playing the power schools, it didn't mean much... Except that random outlets would declare teams (who hadn't played anyone) a national champion. Alabama chose to claim those. Other schools did not.

LSU could lay claim to some of those, but has refused to do so.

No, if I was one of those guys I'd claim 20.

OK, lets only include the last 50 years...
Or, the last 40 years...

First off, I'm not debating who has more football titles, so you can stop beating your chest for just a moment. LSU has 3 national titles, yet you claimed that Bama had 14 MORE national championships. That would give Bama 17, which is not accurate. They have 7 undisputed titles, followed by about a dozen ambiguous one's, of which maybe 6 or 7 COULD be considered legitimate. There were always multiple teams being named champions in the old days. And people complained about the BCS...

It's still a lot, but my point is check your fandom ego a little, before throwing random numbers around. Saban was here, and the roles could easily be reversed. But that's not how it turned out. So enjoy it while it lasts. Success is cyclical.

Saban made sure he insulated himself from the coach in question.
