Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
I don't think the low attendance at the Miss State game, and the lackluster 2nd half performance did Miles any favors with his job security.

Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
I don't follow LSU as closely as many of you do. I'm just a 'casual' college fan. Seems to me the prevailing wind is coming from the "dude your days are numbered" direction.
Good or bad, he's no Saban. |
Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
Personally I hate Saben more than Miles.

Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
First of all Miles needs to stop coloring his hair. He looks like Michael Meyers in Halloween.
I think the only reason they haven't fired him yet is the lack of a well known replacement. I don't think the fans would like anyone other than a proven winner in college ball. LSU beat JVille by 21 but don't let that fool you. JVille gained 368 total yards to LSU's 371. Miss State was 1-14 on 3rd downs. If they would've increased that to 7-14 would've won the game. I think the fix is already in and a search for a new coach has begun. Start naming candidates fellas? What about Lane Kiffin? hehe |

Etling may be his savior. If he continues to play well and win games, Miles will be HC next year as well. Bitter sweet. Miles is great guy and leader, just not a great coach. He needs to let Aranda and Cameron fully control both sides of the ball and just oversee the day to day stuff.

That seat just got warmer.

Done, and finally. He won't make it to see southern miss.
|
Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
He'll win a big game or two down the stretch and everyone will continue to point out that he wins 8-10 games every year so that good enough.
He will win just enough games again to keep his job. |

Scoring Offense – 110th. Team Passing Efficiency – 113th. First Downs – 99th. 3rd Down Conversion Pct – T-64th. 4th Down Conversions – T-123rd (0 for 2). Red Zone Offense – T-115th. Total Offense – 111th. Rushing Offense - 53rd (with 2, 5-star RB's). Passing Offense - 119th There is absolutely no reason a team with that much talent should perform this miserably year after year. Les Miles out dated offensive philosophy is the reason they are losing. They'll probably lose at least 2 more this year. He should have been fired last season. Les is done in Baton Rouge. |

Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
It was coming. But I'm actually really stunned it came in-season. I didn't think LSU's athletic department had it in them after the way they muffed it last year.
All those people who thought the team was going to come out and storm the gates of the college football world, defiantly vindicating Les Miles... Now they maybe realize how silly they sounded. I thought this was one of the most talented LSU team's of all time, and still do. And yet, we're still 2-2. You can't make enough excuses for that. Yes, players play the game. But to have THAT much talent consistently underachieving on the offensive side of the ball, year after year, speaks to an inability to develop players or put them in a system that fits their skill set. It's not a fluke after a decade. |
Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
Yes it was coming. With all the talent they've had they should've won 5 national championships. Orgeron is a good stop gap and has head coaching experience. They've been looking for a replacement since the loss to Wisconsin.
|
Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
Not sure about that 5 national championships. They produce more NFL ready players and more skill position players but Alabama has had them nasty linemen on both sides of the ball that wins championships
Thats my opinion anyway |

I have no idea just how many championships LSU SHOULD have, but I can tell you that with an elite coach they should have been in serious contention almost every single year. In his 12 years here, there were only two such seasons. Then there were a handful of years where it looked like they were in the hunt only to blow it late in the year. But it was always enough to give the impression to some that Miles was an elite coach. |
Re: Les Miles on the HOT SEAT?
If he had fired Cameron, he might still have a job. All he had to do was find someone who could develop a quarterback.
