My yours son did this at a little league baseball game when he was about 8 years old. A ~5 ft rat snake crawled out onto the infield and the players headed for the dugout. My son walks up, lays his glove over the snake's head, grabs it and proceeds to go pitch it out in the woods. We weren't there but arrived shortly after the event and parents were running up to us saying you'll never believe what your son just did.
