Zooey Deschanel files for divorce from Ben Gibbard

Zooey Deschanel has filed for divorce from Ben Gibbard, her husband of two years.
The actress filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Dec. 27 citing irreconcilable differences. The former couple announced they had broken up in November.

The 31-year-old actress stars in the Fox sitcom New Girl and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance. Gibbard is the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie, which released the album Codes and Keys in May.

Deschanel and Gibbard were married in September 2009 and have no children together.

Well that explains a lot. She's been calling me day and night. She keeps calling, and I keep telling her to leave me alone, that I'm married, but she just keeps calling.

Does Saintfan know ?

Saintfan was aware of this when they separated back in October and quite frankly does not find this surprising in the least.

Zooey is an old-school classic. Death Cab for Cutie is high-brow pop. It was never going to last. I knew it all along.

I'm working on it man. But I have to figure a way to meet her without the appearance of stalking.

For example, on my last trip from SFO to DFW, I took a flight that went through LAX on the off (yes, I recognize the remoteness of potential here) chance that I'd catch her in the terminal there flying either to or From NY. She's from LA, soo...

Anyway, I didn't see her. I have a few friends in the "OC" scouting around too. I'm working it man. When I strike gold you guys will be the first to know.

I thought about getting up with some of my old Google buddies from my time there and having Google invite her to their Irive office (or LA either one) for a tour since her HelloGiggles site is doing so well.

Then I could show up and be introduced that way.
