What's Your Favorite TV Show Intro?
I've got at least a top 10 - most going back into the 70's and early 80's...because I'm old. I guess if I had a gun to my head I'd pick this one...My Grandpa looked just like James Garner back then...and I mean they could easily have been brothers, so of course I thought Garner was cool...but this tune...30 years later and I still love it!
So bring 'em on. What's your favorite? |
I'm going to have to think on that. Good Question
1. Hawaii Five Oh (Original)
2. Good Times (My mom bought me a "J.J." hat when I was a kid...Dynomite!) 3. Opening theme to Looney Tunes (Saturday morning cartoon show) 4. All in the Family 5. Sanford and Son 6. The Jefferson's |

So many favorites, the '60s Batman was one of them, but this one has to be my all-time favorite ...
... couple more ... I used to watch a lot of T.V. as a kid ...
... and last, but not least ...
... all the great themes are from the '60s & '70s ... GREAT THREAD !!! |
Old= Beverly Hillbillys
New= Breaking Bad Gilligans Island was mentioned, it was one of my favorites also. |
Sorry FF!! Didn't see you had already added it.
So I submit this: |
A sad footnote to this clip is that a lot of the Marines shown were some of the first to be sent to Vietnam and several of them were killed. Semper Fi!! |
I think the age demographic on this site just went up a decade. LOL

So, this is the closing theme, but anyway...
I know I'm old and shows like this just don't come on anymore, which is too bad. Actually, I'm only 42 and, now that I think about it, TV has become really boring in the last 30 years or so... When I was a kid, my sister and I spent a lot of time at my great Grandmother's house. She lived there with her sister. Me and my sister called them "Granny and Aintie". We spend the night there a lot. They would spread a blanket out on the floor (called it a pallet) in front of the TV and we would watch all those 70's shows. They brought us ice cream or made us burgers and fries. Whatever we wanted. Those two women would have stepped in front of a train for us. Anyway, this was always one of my favorites. It went off the air in 1978 just before I turned 9. For those of you who are too young to remember it, head over to YouTube and search for "The Carol Burnett Show": |
Carol Burnett with Harvey Gorman & Tim Conway ... classic, non-stop laughs!
Hate to pull the redneck card, but how about The Dukes of Hazard.......Just some good ole boys.....
Fast cars, good looking women, breaking the law, snappy tune ... redneck or not, that one rates to be on the list ...
