And what about on a Federal or State installation with military LEO. You are saying it's ok to impersonate them but not an actual city or state LEO? And the military LEO that took control of NO they can also be impersonated?

Anyway, the point of the article is that people who claim they received awards which in fact they didn't are getting either financial or political gain from lying about their service. That is a serious offense because it directly affects citizens on many different levels. It should be prosecuted on the same level as impersonating a LEO or close to it.
