Since we have a few Atlanta lurkers around here lately...

I don't know how I can love the Braves so much and loath the Failcones as completely as I do...

But I grew up with these guys. Actually, I grew up with guys that came long before they did.

There are three sports moments I will never forget. Hartley's kick against the Vikings. Porter's INT against Manning.

And this one.

I miss Lemke, and Gant, and Avery, and Horner, and Chambliss, and Benedict, and Rameriez, and Murphy, and Hunter, and Claudell, and so many more. Mostly I miss Skip and Pete and Ernie. They taught me the game. This was the first time sports ever brought me to tears - it's as beautiful now as it was then, and that it was Bonds' noodle arm that could beat Sid's worn out knees just makes it all the sweeter!
