Actually it is. Politicians are elected and supposed to act in the interest of the people they represent. That might differ from your opinions on guns but those opinions are not relevant in the context.

Here we are instead talking about scumbag lowlifes (I can't even write out what I think about those people) who are taking advantage of the situation to basically steal money or what not from families in grief.

I don't see it as much different. They are exploiting a tragedy. Throw lipstick on it all you want, its still a pig. We didn't elect them to exploit anything.
