Rory McIlroy facing Meltdown
 

McIlroy was seven-over for the eight holes he completed in his second round and was almost certain to miss the cut. Initially, McIlroy told reporters that “he was not in a good place mentally” and that the reasons were not physical. Within an hour, however, the story had changed and a statement was issued claiming he was “suffering from a sore wisdom tooth”.
