I was just about to reply... "You started with 2, now you have 12"... Not exactly the sort of insight you expected?

Oh no. That's not it at all. I started out with two, only now, thanks to this thread, my heart is set on "The Mystery Mobile", and I'm afraid nothing else is going to do...

I know you are concerned about cost, doors, efficiency, etc... Are you not you going to be SINGLE also?

This will be a lot cheaper than strip clubs.

If you should decide to go this way, w/o the navigation and sunroof, you can get one for about 23k out the door. Just so you have a price point.

Yep. Was just looking at those. And then I found a 2009 Passat, Cobolt Blue with 47k on it for under 15k and my heart stopped...

if you plan on working on it yourself, have fun - buy bandaids and all the special vw tools and brush up on your swearing. dumb crap breaks on them routinely - really only argument i have. (i.e. ac compressor at 10k miles, alternator at 25k, both FWD cv axles by 40k...total bs IMO. dad had one when i was in high school, i hated that car after about 2 years.).

I know. Therein lies the drama. People love them...or they hate them. They are "very reliable" or "they suck". Color me confused...still...

Just went by dealer yesterday... They are offering lifetime mechanical warranty... Engine, transmission, etc... Yikes.. Tempting me now... But not as nice as the Avalon. The Touareg, otoh, i was drooling a bit. I will have to wait on that one.

I would think that as long as you get it painted the right color ... say, black & gold with a fleur ... even the most hardcore of detractors would approve,.

Now there's some truth to that actually, only I'll be in Dallas and somebody, Michael Irvin maybe, would surely steal the rims...

Got my eye on this one.

2010 - 14k - one owner lease 5k a year. All the whistles and bells with the I4 Turbo instead of the I5 in the newer ones.

Used 2010 Volkswagen Passat Komfort For Sale | Roseville CA .

That will not last long. You seem to have a touch of the bad luck with women... You will fall flat in love with a girl in Dallas only to lift that skirt and find the has on Dallas Cowboy panties.

You sir, are a genuine buzz kill. A destroyer of fantasy.

Now, for what it's worth, I purchased a Passat. I'll post a pic or three soon for those interested.

2010, 25k miles, Komfort, Black ext and int. Probably the nicest little car I've ever owned. I think Zooey will look quite nice in it too. :-)

Congratulations!

I prefer "beacon of reality". :P

You bought the only color a vehicle should come in. Damn fine job!

Pictures!

Can't go wrong with only 25k miles on it, does it have the diesel?

Sadly, no. Those TDI models or whatever they're called are simply out of my range, even used, unless they've got nearly a 100k on 'em, which for the diesel is child's play from what I'm told. Still, I just wasn't comfortable buying a car with that many miles on it -- but I really would have liked the diesel. Maybe I should have checked this lottery ticket before I bought. I could already be rich...

Alright. Since so many of you thugs chimed in, here are a couple pics of the car I bought. A 2010 VW Passat Komfort. Me thinks it's a good lookin' car, and it's got more bells and whistles than Rodman has tats.

Where ya going to put it? (Please do not say dash:confused:)

This is Tejas and we sport front and read license plates.

While I have used the argument "i am not putting holes in this car" for my SS and my CTS-V, you having that Saints license plate on the front is going to get you a ticket just out of spite.

In 10 years in Texas I never had a front plate - I'll just continue to defy the man. :-)

I bought a used 2010 passat with 25k on it. It's a very nice car. I got a fair deal on it and it's a bit less to insure than I originally figured. I have to put 91 octane in it, so that hugs root, but otherwise I'm pleased. It handles better than any car I've ever owned - 4 doors but feels a bit sportier.
