Three people died and more than 170 were wounded Monday when two bombs went off near the finish line at the Boston Marathon. No arrests have been made in the investigation.

"It's ironic, nothing to be played with at all," Johnson told the newspaper. "I mean, that's pretty much it. There's really nothing to be played with, at the end of the day, with seeing what happened. I feel like how everybody else in America feels.

No Twitter, no games, no jokes, none of that. But at the end of the day, I feel just how everybody else felt when they see those bombs go off."

On April 3, Johnson tweeted: "War is nothing to be played with. I apologize North Korea........but if y'all do bomb 1st... Bomb Foxboro, Mass. Sincerely,#BillsMafia."

He has not deleted the tweet, which has since been retweeted 4,457 times and favorited 1,760 times as of Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, Johnson defended the tweet as a joke as he also did in responses to his Twitter followers immediately after posting the message.

"The only gut reaction was hearing people was injured and people died," Johnson told the Buffalo News. "The only thing about Twitter was how ironic it is. That's a tough one. That's a tough one to deal with."

The surviving Boston bomb suspect hails from Chechnya or Turkey and has lived in the United States for at least one year.

http://global.fncstatic.com/static/m...ied_041913.jpg

Federal law enforcement sources told Fox News that authorities are investigating whether Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, Mass., and his brother may have had military training overseas.
The two men believed to be the suspects from Monday's terror attack apparently surfaced just hours after the FBI released their imaged late Thursday afternoon, shooting the police officer, robbing a convenience store, carjacking a man who later escaped and engaging in a wild shootout with Boston police, in which they hurled explosives from their stolen car.
"We believe this man to be a terrorist," said Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. "We believe this to be a man who's come here to kill people."
The bombings on Monday killed three people and injured more than 180 others.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

They're 'trying to kill me!' Store clerk recounts carjack victim's escape

Tarek Ahmed was working at gas station in Cambridge, Mass. Thursday night when a young man ran into his store screaming.
"Call the police! Call the police! These people are trying to kill me!"
The young man was allegedly carjacked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology by the two men authorities now say have been identified as the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

http://a57.foxnews.com/global.fncsta...mbing.JPG?ve=1

Authorities said early Friday the suspects dropped off the victim after driving around with him for about 30 minutes.
Ahmed, 45, described the young man as Caucasian and between 20 and 25 years old. He said the young man ran into his store "shaking and scared and very nervous."
"I thought he was drunk. I didn't believe him when he came in it just sounded very crazy," Ahmed told FoxNews.com in an exclusive interview.
Ahmed let the man into the back room to use the phone to call the authorities.
"He just came in and said, 'call police, call police someone is trying to kill me,' " Ahmed said. "They stole car and dropped him off. It was very scary."
"He came very fast and was nervous and was afraid of the guy. He said they pushed him out of car," he continued. "When this guy came, I think he's drunk I don't believe him. He went inside and closed the door. He was shaking and very nervous. I only believe him when the cops came."
Ahmed says police took the gas station surveillance video tapes, and photos from the gas station store across the street where Ahmed believes the suspects stopped to buy something. Ahmed says he believes that was when the carjacking victim was shoved out of the car.
Ahmed said the young man did not appear injured, just badly shaken by the carjacking.
Ahmed too was shaken up.
"It has been very crazy difficult night for me," he said. "But I am so happy because they catch the one guy and will catch the other. That is good."

Re: Explosion at Boston Marathon

Boston marathon runner returns home to Texas to witness plant explosion

People keep asking Joe Berti if he feels unlucky.
A bomb exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon seconds after Berti finished the race. Two days later, he was in his home state of Texas when he saw a fertilizer plant explode near Waco.
"I was just like, 'I can't believe this!"' said Berti, who said he had never witnessed an explosion before. Then he thought: "I just want to get out of here and get away from all these explosions."
But Berti, as it turns out, is far from unlucky. Instead, he feels fortunate. He left both tragedies unscathed, while members of his running group and his wife -- who was closer to the Boston explosion than he was -- were also unhurt.

http://global.fncstatic.com/static/m...itnes_Angu.jpg

"It's a miracle," he said in an interview with The Associated Press on Thursday. "People keep saying, 'Don't you feel unlucky?' and I was actually the opposite -- saying not only do I not feel unlucky, but I feel blessed that my wife could be 10 yards from the explosion and not have a scratch."
The bombings in Boston, which happened about 10 seconds apart at the finish line of Monday's marathon, killed three people and left more than 180 wounded. In West, Texas, which is near Waco, a fertilizer plant exploded on Wednesday, killing at least five people, injuring more than 160, and leveling homes, apartments and a school.
"We're grateful that God has been merciful to us," said Berti's wife, Amy. "We are just praying for the people who were so much less fortunate than we were."
Berti's road to the Boston marathon started just a couple months ago, when he decided to run with Champions4Children, a charity that helps kids with rare or undiagnosed disorders and their families. He was one of eight Austin-area runners who ran the marathon with that group. Each ran for a sick child or "training partner," who tracked his or her runner's marathon progress from home.
During the last four miles, the 43-year-old Berti, who wore bib number 25472, felt his body shutting down, and his pace slowed. But he was running for his partner Drew, and he vowed to finish.
"I had just run to the finish line and like 30 seconds later I heard the first explosion, and then turned around and saw the smoke," he said. "I knew immediately that it was a bomb ... Then the second explosion occurred and I saw a wave of people running."
At that point, he said, he was so exhausted he couldn't run anymore. He worried about getting caught in a stampede. He was concerned about members of his running group who were behind him. He also thought about his wife, whom he was unable to reach and was probably wondering where he was. He told himself she was fine, because she was supposed to be at a restaurant.
"But then, I was like, 'She never listens to me, and she may have been at the finish line,"' a thought he quickly tried to remove from his mind.
As it turns out, Amy Berti and a friend were just a few yards from the first explosion. She had just taken a picture of Joe, and was heading to the finish line to find him when the bomb went off. She and her friend were both hit by shrapnel. Amy was uninjured, her friend was bruised.
But a woman right next to Amy had her leg torn off from the knee down, and lost all the fingers in her left hand. Amy Berti went to get help, and once that woman was being cared for, Amy's frantic search for her husband began.
His cellphone battery died. He wasn't on the bus. He wasn't in the medical tents.
"I had just watched him cross where that bomb was, so I didn't know if he made it through and I couldn't find him," she said. "I started to freak out a little bit."
After about an hour, the couple reunited at their hotel, both of them OK. They left Boston Tuesday morning and returned to Austin, with every hope of getting back to life as normal with their two girls, ages 8 and 11.
Joe Berti went back to work. On Wednesday, he had a daylong meeting in Dallas, followed by a museum tour. He was heading home on Interstate 35 and nearing Waco Wednesday night when he saw black smoke up ahead to his left. As he drove closer, he saw -- and felt -- his second explosion in two days.
"You've got to be kidding!" he remembers thinking. He described the giant fireball as a massive force that shook his car. He said it looked like pictures of nuclear explosions that he has seen on television.
He didn't know what he had just witnessed -- but he pulled over and took a picture.
"My next reaction was to get out of there because something fell on the top of my car -- some debris or something fell from the sky," he said.
As black smoke billowed over the highway in front of him, Berti held his breath and drove through it. After a few attempts, he was able to reach his wife -- sparing her another round of worry.
"I'm like, 'Honey, what is with your luck? Why are you in all of these places?" Amy Berti said. When a reporter suggested that Joe should stay home for a while, she joked, "We need to keep him moving. Maybe he just needs to stand in an open field."

The Middlesex district attorney said the two men are suspected of killing a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer on campus late Thursday, then stealing a car at gunpoint and later releasing its driver unharmed. Hours earlier, police had released photos of the marathon bombing suspects and asked for the public's help finding them.

A surveillance photo released April 19, 2013, shows a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, foreground, being sought by law enforcement authorities. http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/201..._759821422.jpgAn unidentified man appears behind the suspect in the photo.
Authorities say the suspects threw explosives from the car as police followed it into Watertown. The suspects and police exchanged gunfire, and one of the suspects was critically injured and later died while the other escaped.

CBS News has learned the dead suspect had multiple gunshot wounds.

"We believe this to be a terrorist," Boston police Commissioner Ed Davis said. "We believe this to be a man who came here to kill people."

The FBI said it is working with local authorities to determine what happened.

The MIT shooting on the Cambridge campus Thursday night was followed by gunfire and explosions in Watertown, about 10 miles west of Boston.

The MIT officer had been responding to report of a disturbance Thursday night when he was shot multiple times, according to a statement from the Middlesex district attorney's office and Cambridge police. It said there were no other victims.

In Watertown, multiple gunshots and explosions were heard at about 1 a.m. Friday. Dozens of police officers and FBI agents were in the neighborhood and a helicopter circled overhead.

Re: Explosion at Boston Marathon

The suspects in the attack on the Boston Marathon — one killed, one on the loose — are brothers of Chechen origin, at least one a legal permanent resident of the United States, law enforcement officials told NBC News.

The suspect at large early Friday was identified as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, born in Kyrgyzstan, holding a Massachusetts driver’s license and living in the Boston suburb of Cambridge. He was the suspect in the white hat in surveillance photos from the marathon released by the FBI.

A tense night of police activity that left a university officer dead on campus just days after the Boston Marathon bombings and amid a hunt for two suspects caused officers to converge on a neighborhood outside Boston, where residents heard gunfire and explosions.

His brother, who was killed in a firefight with law enforcement, was identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, born in Russia. He became a legal permanent resident in 2007, the officials said. He was the suspect in the black hat in the FBI photos.

Both men were believed to have military experience, and to have entered the country with their family in 2002 or 2003, when the family sought asylum. The nature of the military experience was not clear. Later in the morning, U.S. Army officials told NBC knows that no one matching either name had served in the active-duty Army, or the reserves.

The city of Cambridge awarded Dzhokhar Tsarnaev a $2,500 scholarship toward college in 2011, according to The Boston Globe. The scholarships were for students at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, part of the Cambridge public school system.

In 2002, Chechen militants seized a Moscow theater and held 800 people hostage for two days. Special forces raided the building and killed 41 hostage-takers; 129 hostages were killed, mostly from gas used by Russian forces.

In 2004, Chechen insurgents took hundreds of hostages in the Russian town of Beslan. The siege came to a bloody end two days later, and 330 people, about half children, were killed.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed after a chaotic chase and firefight with police early Friday. Authorities were conducting a house-to-house search in the Boston suburb of Watertown for his brother, who was considered armed and extremely dangerous. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick ordered people in Boston and some suburbs to stay inside.

Re: Explosion at Boston Marathon

Authorities are now confirming the two suspects sought in Monday's Boston Marathon bombing are two Russian-born Chechen brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev. Tamerlan, the older brother, is dead. Here's what we know about him.

It's not much, and most of it's derived from a photo gallery. We know Tamerlan Tsarnaev was 26 and a competitive boxer for a club named Team Lowell, who won the Rocky Marciano Trophy for being New England Golden Gloves heavyweight champion in 2010. He did this while taking time off from school at Bunker Hill Community College, where he studied in hopes of being an engineer. He's been boxing in the U.S. since at least 2004, and his uncle told WBZ in Boston that he arrived in the United States in 2000 under refugee status.

The Lowell Sun wrote this about his bout at the Golden Gloves nationals in 2009:

In Team New England's last bout of the night, Tamerlan Tsarnaev dropped a controversial decision to Lamar Fenner of Chicago in the 201-pound devision.

After flooring Fenner with a huge punch that required an eight count, it seemed that Tsarnaev was in control of the whole fight.

Yet somehow the judges saw it differently and awarded Fenner the decision, a decision that drew boos from the crowd.

Team New England finished the first day of action with two wins and two losses.

We know he had a YouTube profile, where he created a playlist dedicated to terrorism. The photo gallery features his girlfriend at the time, and the caption reads:

Tamerlan says his girlfriend is half Portuguese, half Italian girlfriend and converted to Islam: "She's beautiful, man!"

Other photo captions in the gallery:

Tamerlan demonstrates a way of walking to strengthen the ankle muscles at the Wai Kru Mixed Martial Arts center. A native of Chechnya, Tamerlan says: "In Russia, we used to train like this. Here nobody does it, I don't know why!"

Tamerlan says he doesn't drink or smoke anymore: "God said no alcohol." A muslim, he says: "There are no values anymore," and worries that "people can't control themselves."

Tamerlan says he doesn't usually take his shirt off so girls don't get bad ideas: "I'm very religious."

Tamerlan says he loves the movie "Borat," even though some of the jokes are a bit too much.

If he wins enough fights there, Tamerlan says he could be selected for the US Olympic team and be naturalized American. Unless his native Chechnya becomes independent, Tamerlan says he would rather compete for the United States than for Russia.
