That's what I immediately thought ... no matter what, it could never be as bad as Roseanne's National Anthem. Besides, this one was at a hockey game, so it already beat Roseanne's right out the gate, :mrgreen:.

Been there. Well, not Saskatoon, but around Canadian ice-rinks. It's a pretty common occurance in small-market Canadian arenas where they don't have a pre-recorded version of the Star Spangled banner or don't see many US teams. Mostly just lack of preperation. Bugs you the first time or two it happens, the local fans are genuinely a bit embarrassed, usually apologetic & gracious in letting you know it's not intentional.

Roseanne spoofed it, and for that I'll never forgive her ... f'ing biotch.

Well if we are not limiting it to hockey, nobody beats the Carl Lewis attempt at the Bulls game, it's in the hall of fame of anthem disasters.

I agree with SloMo.

Roanne Barr used that chance to do that as a comedy act with spitting at the end . That was her homage to the players.
It was awful.
I also balme whatever head honcho , the organization for having her do it.

I cannot fault someone who sings the Nat. Athem but is not a singer.
It is nicer to have people with a great voice sing it.
I have no tolerance for people who try to sing it and make a joke of it like Barr did.

Next on my ****list are those who, who, I say whooo-oooooooo want to make ititttt their own so-n-onngggg-ongg and in their atempt to jazz it up and ruin it.

The Nat. Athem is not their song and singing it is not at their concert.
They can see their songs at their concerts any kind of way they want to. If they choose to sing The Nat. Athem at their concerts, for their adoring fans, so be it.
