If you have insurance as a driver you are covered in what ever you get in. When you rent, you show DL, and insurance card.

Liability follows the driver. Collision depends on the policy.

The big question that comes into play is the "how many miles do you drive to/for work". If you put 25 and you put 25k that year, expect a rate adjustment.

If you put less than 6k, list your car as a recreational vehicle and get a reduced rate.
