TOURNAMENT HISTORY Today’s contest is a rematch of the 2009 World Championship tournament when the U.S. defeated Mexico, 55-0, in Canton, Ohio.

U.S. running back David Wilson – now with the New York Giants – ran for 146 yards and three touchdowns in that game, including a 50-yard run on the Americans’ first play from scrimmage.

The USA defense limited Mexico to 35 yards of total offense, including minus-28 yards rushing.

The USA is 5-1 all-time in the IFAF World Championship, going 3-0 and winning the gold medal in 2009, then posting a 2-1 record and winning the silver medal in 2012.

In tournament openers, the U.S. National Team is 2-0 with a 70-0 win over France in 2009 and a 27-6 win over American Samoa in the 2012 tournament.

The 2014 IFAF U-19 World Championships marks the first time the event has been held outside of the United States. The 2009 event was held in Canton, Ohio, and the 2012 event was in Austin, Texas.
