This Is Awesome
The season is in the tank, pretty much regardless of what else happens. Lots of things matter more though.
I'm on the road this week - recently divorced, nasty custody battle. I won 50/50 Joint legal and physical (and lost everything I own in the process, but that's what it costs for men unfortunately), and I am now seeing my kids more than I ever have, because the ex routinely went to great lengths to prevent me (and anyone else) from having access to them without her approval and supervision, and whenever challenged she (the ex) would throw tantrums, scream, yell (with language), throw things...very bad stuff. So anyway, her worst nightmare is the kids bonding with me. My daughter is 8, and my son is 4. The kids and I have come so far in the last year and a half - a testament to the value of a father. So I'm in Dallas, and the reminder I placed on my calendar to call the kids pops up, and with it a note that I didn't type. My daughter snuck back onto my laptop and left me the following note on my Outlook reminder. I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up a bit. Because it's kinda Saints related I thought I'd share it with you guys. Quote:

Re: This Is Awesome
Do everything possible to keep your children in your life.
My bother-in-law's first wife acted like she was Miss America, looked like one of the flying monkeys and had the personality of the Wicked Witch of the West. Wonderful "lady", she was. They divorced after three children and she did everything possible to convince the children that their dad was a POS. Twenty years later my brother-in-law is dying of cancer and his son still won't talk to him. Some marriages don't last, but never, ever let the children believe that they aren't loved. |

Re: This Is Awesome
Ihad sole and now joint 50/50 custody with my 14 yr old son. I can relate. Luckily my ex is not that psycho though. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Hopefully one day yall can be friends when it comes to raising your kids.

Re: This Is Awesome
saintfan, that is awesome. :-)
I agree with daughter too about the cat, pumpkin, being a Saint's fan :-) Please, no matter how, keep that relationship going on with your kids. Kids do not stay kids forever, but once they reach that adult stage and if their minds have been poisoned by the other, it is hard and such to build a relationship. See dam1953's post. So sorry about that dam1953 in regards to your brother -in-law and nephew. |
Re: This Is Awesome
