Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
Gordon could get his suspension lifted. Is the gamble worth dropping someone on my present roster in my 2014 Fantasy thread?

Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
I picked in up in 5 of my 6 leagues yesterday. Tried trading for him in the 6th one but the owner wouldn't budge. He's a lottery ticket worth buying. I wound up dropping whoever my last WR/RB was.

Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
Where are you getting this info from? I don't see anything about it on any of the major sites. I wanna roll the dice too, but not without a confirmed rumor lol.

Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
NFLPA chief DeMaurice Smith confirmed the union will seek to reverse suspensions that occurred this year as part of a potential new deal with the league on performance-enhancing drugs.
"We don't want players to suffer because the union and league couldn't get it done before the league year," Smith said. He's essentially referring to Josh Gordon, who is suspended indefinitely for failed drug tests, and Wes Welker, who is suspended four games for amphetamines. It's a glimmer of hope for both players, but it's small part of a much larger negotiation with tons of moving parts as the two sides try to revamp the overall policy. The talks have been described as "fragile." At this point, Gordon remains a stash-and-pray kind of fantasy option. |
Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
I listen to NFLSirius on my morning commute to work @5am. Ross Tucker usually has all the scoop from the league that will be coming out.

Adam Schefter on Twitter said Gordon has 9 games until he can play again.

Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
Now they're saying he won't be allowed to play till week 12.
Josh Gordon - Cleveland Browns - 2014 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com So the question is, is he worth stashing for that long? |
Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
Quote:
10 game suspension, week 1 is gone and served, then there is a BYE week which isn't a game, so he starts week 12. I know can be confusing but week 12 is only the 11th game for most teams. So he will have 6 games left. Weeks 12-17 |
Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
So is anyone holding on to Gordon?
|
Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
I am
If you can manage to scrape through it could be worth it. Im screwed week 4 with the Broncos, Bengals byes so will take the hit and drop that week. |
Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
I am holding on until ,,
Wait... How recent is this DWI? WTF? Browns’ Josh Gordon pleads guilty to DWI - Sports - The Boston Globe |
Re: Josh Gordon suspension possibly lifted
Quote:
Josh Gordon has pled guilty to DWI charges in Wake County, North Carolina, and been sentenced to 12 months of unsupervised probation. He must also pay a $390 fine. The league's new drug policy mandates a two-game suspension for players who are convicted or plead out in drunk-driving cases, but Gordon's arrest occurred under the old policy. Per Profootballtalk, he'll only be subject to a fine, and won't have his current 10-game ban lengthened. NFL.com's Albert Breer reports Gordon has been "assured" that's the case. It means he's still on track to return in Week 12, and no longer has any outstanding legal issues. Now hopefully Gordon can stay on the straight and narrow. Sep 16 - 1:49 PM Josh Gordon - Cleveland Browns - 2014 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com I think the next offense would require capital punishment from the league though. |
