Record store posts the ultimate “Do Not Never Ever Buy List”
|
They know their customers.

Seriously, The Eagles?
I read that list and several of those bands have made some awesome, original music. Hipster garbage. |
I know, i guess they don't sell. No resale value.
|
Maybe they sold so many that the demand just isn't there. There were some good bands on there.

A perfect example of close minded elitist snobbery. I hope they get prison raped by Barry Manilow. |
Well that was stupid, but I did see THIS on that page. It was worth a click:

The list has nothing to do with "close minded elitist snobbery" or anything to do with how good or how bad the music is. It has to do with how many copies of the record or CD are in the bins, and how many they sell or don't sell. I have worked in a used record store before and we had a very similar type of list going on. If you have 10 copies of the Eagles Greatest Hits sitting in the bins, and you can't sell the ones you have, you do not EVER need to buy another one. There are also weird but true things on that list, like Jane's Addiction CDs will sell, but Perry Ferrell or Porno For Pyros discs just sit there collecting dust. Then there's people like Bonnie Raitt or Kiss, hugely popular but for some reason people never ever want to buy it on used CD.
|
Whatever, people who listen to what other people tell them to buy don't know music anyway.
|
Eagles, foreigner and journey in that list? What drugs are they on??! :(
