AC/DC Drummer Phil Rudd Charged in Murder Plot
AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with trying to arrange a murder, BBC reports.
The charges against the 60-year-old, whose house in New Zealand was raided on Thursday morning (Nov. 6), include attempting to procure a murder, threatening to kill and possession of methamphetamine and cannabis. No further details are available yet. Last month, AC/DC released "Play Ball," the first single from their upcoming Rock or Bust album, due Dec. 2 in the U.S. Rudd was kicked out of the band in 1983 but returned in 1994. Rudd was curiously missing from recent band publicity photos and was a no-show at their Oct. 3 video shoot for "Play Ball." AC/DC has also made recent headlines after guitarist Malcolm Young, brother of frontman Angus Young, was diagnosed with dementia and had to exit the band.
