With the #14 pick, the Philadelphia Eagles select Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio State. With the departure of their #1 WR, and the struggles of the rest of the receiving corps, the Eagles look to upgrade the athleticisim and play-making ability at the position. Santonio Holmes gives them an explosive threat outside who can catch both the deep ball, and has soft enough hands to catch the short routes across the middle.

Being in the area and seeing Eagles talk on the news, in the papers, and people taunting me for my lack of taste in football teams, I know that a wideout will NOT be picked in the draft... well, atleast not in the first round. It's actually more of a concern how the defense went down this year than how bad the WR core was without TO. Remember the Eagles made it to the championship game four times without TO (and technically into the Superbowl). One of those years with McNabb missing five games at the end of the season. Andy Reid will go Defense...

wr is their biggest need right now. even if they do select holmes they will go after another wr in free agency.
