So, the league has somewhat rebounded from the low ratings they got from their flag kneeling, SJW activism, Kaepernick days? They laid off of their agenda somewhat and some people started paying attention again. It’s not rocket science.

The NFL encouraging betting lately has to be a factor. It'll be interesting to see if that comes back to bite them due to lawsuits from people that lost everything from gambling. (You know it's coming).

With all the money that the gambling industry makes off of the NFL they are more than happy to deal with the frivolous attempts at lawsuits, the largest of which might be a single piece of sand in their Nevada desert of profit.

No. Banning is so harsh. Guido has tried to get lots of people banned. Anyone who challenges his ego in fact. Maybe today he'll send another PM to management complaining about mean old 'moderator' saintfan picking on him.

Oh and by the way, the 18-49 demographic is in steady decline and has been for years. This is the money demo. Roger understands this. OP does not because he's an idiot.

Why on Earth would the NFL side up with Vegas? LOL And why on Earth would the NFL broadcast those stupid slime games on Nick? Here's why.

Not to nitpick, but... that's Superbowl viewership. A lot of people watch more of the regular season than the Superbowl. Which I think can be attributed to fantasy league owners wanting to watch their player. That's the only reason I watch some games.

For sure it's the SB data, but the trend is that the NFL is losing a vital demographic and has been for a very long time. My kid, like all other kids, simply has better things to do.

30 years ago MLB began to experience the same thing and still hasn't fully recovered.

It's why the NFL kowtowed to the "woke" movement. It's the reason for the kiddie broadcasts on Nick. It's the reason the NFL has partnered with Vegas - a dangerous prospect all things considered. Roger is fully aware of what he's doing and why.

Generic viewership data is all but worthless in the context of the point, which OP is trying to start another argument about because he 'lost' the last one. There is no argument to be made. The NFL is hemorrhaging everybody's target demographic.

Re: Bad news for the "NFL's in decline" crowd

NFL GAMES ACCOUNT FOR 75 OF THE 100 MOST-WATCHED BROADCASTS OF 2021

In a year marked by a pair of ratings-hogging quadrennial events and a whole lot of Beltway intrigue, the NFL in 2021 effectively swallowed TV whole, accounting for 41 of the top 50 most-watched programs, and 75 of the top 100. In doing so, the league not only silenced the torrent of uninformed hooting and clucking that greeted last season’s COVID-related ratings declines, but it also justified the huge rights-fee increases it brokered with its legacy partners.

The NFL’s Kung Fu Grip on the American psyche is as crushing as it’s ever been, with overall deliveries across the regional and national TV windows up 9% versus the year-ago period. Bear in mind that those increases are being notched as overall TV usage continues to fade; per Nielsen, the number of people tuning in to linear TV over the course of this season is down 10% compared to the analogous time frame in 2020.

That downturn coincides with the ongoing erosion of traditional pay-TV customers. Given that the number of homes that subscribe to the cable/satellite bundle had dropped 9% to 69.7 million at the end of the third quarter—just seven years ago, the count was north of 100 million households—the 11% lift ESPN served up with its Monday Night Football package is all the more impressive.

Fake News on some fronts... I'd wager the true numbers lie somewhere in between. Teams in LA now skew the numbers some.. Maybe we should poll the fans in St Louis? Also how do they count viewership? If a casual channel surfer sees the score on the channel and then flips to other channels or worse yet YooToob content or some other streaming source, does the snippet of time count as a solid 3-4 hours?

I hardly watch anymore... don't even subscribe to NFLNetwork. I can catch the relevant news in mere seconds rather than watching empty-ish content. I don't have the time anyway.

Also the gambling aspect has been so imbedded, it brings doubt to the true honest outcome to a game which is supposed to have no predetermined outcome. The Thrill Is Gone . Isn't that a song somewhere? :bng:

This is a discussion Guido has no business attempting. And he's not discussing anyway, he's just dropping by "iamright dot com" and using other people's words. The title of the thread is his attempt at taking a shot at the other side of the argument, because he's an arrogant obnoxious little piss ant. This is why he lost his mind with the title of one of JPs threads and reported it. He's sweating it because HE does it. That's what my ex-wife does, and she's a little :censored: just like gueedo...

Anyway, you hit on it. So much skews the numbers. Neilson can't screen streaming, but my company can. :-) That's what we do. Adsense is where I got my start...well, the now defunct adsense for radio (Google). We schedule the commercials for just about every media outlet you can access. We manage both buy and sell side advertising. We have all the major networks, local affiliates and cable outlets. We have the largest radio and television (cable, streaming, terrestrial, satellite, local, and so much more) footprint in the hemisphere. I'm only saying all this because Guido is an IDOT pushing false information just like Roger wants him to. He wouldn't know the truth if it kicked him in the pecker. Because he clearly doesn't understand how this works (like just about everything else), and I'm not so sure little gueedo even has a pecker.

The NFL is BIG money, of course - always will be, just like MLB. The NBA.
Political advertising, etc. Believe me when I tell you the NFL is VERY worried about 18-49. Very worried. Without it they can't expand, and the last thing they want is a stagnant or declining customer base...which is what it is dangerously close to as we type. Just ask MLB.

The NFL is always going to make money, but if Roger doesn't get that demographic back in a big way the NFL WILL shrink. Take the word of our ignorant little :censored:, and the "lazy media" as little :censored: calls them (ironically), or just look around. It's complicated, yes, but it ain't rocket science.

Right? Ironically little speedo keeps posting articles to prop up his view from the very people carrying the NFL torch.

And these people are NOT ad execs. Roger knows ads. It is a simple truth little speedo would probably acknowledge if it didn't mean in his little pea brain that he'd lost an internet debate...again...on the same subject...in the same thread.

Re: Bad news for the "NFL's in decline" crowd

Yes speedo, the NFL had a good weekend. And it had a good season rebounding from Covid. So...yes...it follows that Roger and his cronies are crowing. That's called marketing.

Roger has expanded the leagues reach to latino kids (telemundo), and white kids (nick), and women (pink **** every year). Fewer white kids are playing. This is why Nick Saban is getting into the voting rights argument, because african-american kids are needed to fill the void outside the SEC dominated south. Nick knows recruiting.

So you can keep on crowing about last year. It was a good year, especially relative to recent years ratings-wise, but the decline in the target demo is very real.

You're throwing rocks at the math trying to 'win' on the internet. LOL

Little speedo strikes again.

The NFL is a private business so it is entirely legal for it to pre-determine the outcome of its games, just as the WWE does. Ultimately, it need be no different than a scripted television series or movie. Explains all the "sketchy" ref calls.
