He essentially lost his job to Mason Rudolph last season. After starting the first 12 games he was inactive the next four and didn't take a snap in the final game. I've heard Rudolph, now a free agent, wants to look elsewhere since Pittsburgh is looking outside for a new QB. I have heard Cousin's name mentioned.

Notice how Tomlin decided to stick with Mason Rudolph even when Kenny was medically cleared to play late in the season.

Rudolph performed well (3-0) down the stretch.
