Mark Mcguire admits steroids

Not sure if this is the right forum, sorry if not.

ESPN just reported he admitted it this morning:

Do you guys feel any different about him?

IMHO

30 years ago players (of any sport) could have a career ending injury and there was nothing that could be done about it. 26 years old, hurt shoulder, can't throw, end of career.

With advances in surgery and medicine, that same 26 year old with the same injury can be repaired (like a car!) and play another 15 years.

How is that different from using steroids? How is anything that "enhances" your ability to play the sport, whether it's a surgery on something that broke, a diet to lose that doughnut round your gut, exercise to build up the muscles in your throwing arm, or steroids to maximize that exercise and build muscle, how is that an "unfair" advantage?

If you are going to say that using Steroids gives a player an "unfair" advantage, then I believe that if they get injured and a surgery can make them as good as new, that is an "unfair" advantage as well and shouldn't be allowed.

I'm just a lowly girly girl and don't know much about sports, it's just my opinion.

We know he could hit a line drive down centerfield, but can he catch a line drive up the middle or sack a QB? I bet David Ortiz could play fullback and Dirk Nowitzki could play tight end. Picture that.

Your opinion is always respected. :)

Anyways, I say the difference breaking rules and not. Life can seem unfair when there are laws stopping one thing and not another. But when you KNOW the rules, then you should break them or, at least, accept the consequences of such.
