Since when does Matt Ryan get the benefit on close calls? (Matt Ryan Mergers)

That fingertip "catch" on the sideline and that non-call for Rodey White pushing off was complete BS! That's now 5 games the Falclowns didn't deserve to win. I hope they do make the playoffs so they can embarrass themselves in the their first game, a la Panthers 2008 ... No I don't! Hope they lose the rest of their games!

saintfan 11-11-2010 10:51 PM

Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan

RaginCajun83 11-11-2010 10:52 PM

Whatever the Falcons paid the refs tonight the Saints need to double it so every BS call can go their way when they play at home, what a joke?

Saintswrath 11-11-2010 10:53 PM

Sorry to say this but he's for real :-(

I want to puke saying that.

Srgt. Hulka 11-11-2010 10:54 PM

And Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer's Matt Ryan!

Donuts32 11-11-2010 10:55 PM

Matt Ryan is still hot garbage. I see why Roddy gets open so much he pushes off too damn much.

Saintswrath 11-11-2010 10:56 PM

Who just edited my post?

- ah nevermind i see who

|Mitch| 11-11-2010 10:57 PM

Yep; There were 2 missed offensive pass interference calls in the last couple of drives.

G504 11-11-2010 11:01 PM

I think it once again goes back to what I said in the chatroom last week. There have been a LOT of "keep the game close" calls this year. Sports fans are sick of seeing the Lakers, Yankees & SEC college football win everything, so the NFL is doubling down on billing itself as the "parity league."

Halo 11-11-2010 11:02 PM

Did you guys see Matt Ryan tonight?

RailBoss 11-11-2010 11:06 PM

RAVENS & REFS NO HELP TO SAINTS

The Ref's did a good job helping The Falcons secure that game.
Penalties (Number-Yards) 6 - 51 Ravens
Penalties (Number-Yards) 1 - 5 Falcons

Also that announcing crew was brutal Bob Papa Matt Millen & Joe Theismann.
By the end of the game I think Joe Theisman was going down to ask Matt Ryan for a date. All that was missing was Brian Billick which would have completed the stable.

|Mitch| 11-11-2010 11:16 PM

They literally talked about Ryan 58 minutes of the game.

Even showing footage of him in little league, seriously who cares if he played TE as a kid.

Saintswrath 11-11-2010 11:18 PM

He's been anointed

Srgt. Hulka 11-11-2010 11:19 PM

It was truly a Matt Ryan suck fest.

Saintswrath 11-11-2010 11:22 PM

I wish i would have saw half of him (literally) tonight.

Halo 11-11-2010 11:23 PM

The announcing crew was horrible... despite Matt Ryan, announcers were HORRIBLE.

Joe Theisman=biggest hater/bandwagoneer on earth, Matt Millen=the guy who single handed destroyed the NFL in Detroit... FOR 5 years...

I suspect he wasn't going to ask Matt anything- he was only going to assume the position. Hey there's Joe theirman bobbing for apples, yelled a passer bye. No he isn't, screamed Brian Billick, he's just finishing off what he started about 3 hours ago on young Matt. Brian watches in envy

RailBoss 11-11-2010 11:37 PM

Yeah 25 that whole call tonight was creepy, Theisman makes my skin crawl he never stops sucking up or talking about himself.

RailBoss 11-11-2010 11:54 PM

It just hit me Smith and Billick are brother in laws maybe Matt is dating Smith's daughter.

saintfan 11-12-2010 12:13 PM

I think I saw Matt Ryan in my bowl of oatmeal this morning. Somebody notify the Catholic Church please. The Pope is going to want to know about this...

...nevermind...

I just realized that Matt Ryan IS the Pope.

Blown calls?
Conspiracy theories?
Favoritism?

Now we're all starting to sound like a bunch of cry baby Falcons fans. Well, I won't allow it!!!!!

This Saints team is almost 100% healthy and finally CLICKING on both sides

Like Danno said - Our A game is better than theirs

NO one could stop us last year and NO one will be able to sop us the rest of the way this year.

ENOUGH ALREADY

Now, let's get back to talking SAINTS Football.

Conspiracy theories? No. I don't think there is a conspiracy.
Favoritism? No. Other than the media love we are all having to endure.
Blown calls? You betcha red rider. Without them Atlanta doesn't win that game. One questionable call and two clearly blown calls...clearly blown.

I'm not being a cry baby falcon fan. Not even close, but those were calls that changed the game. I read somewhere on here that Atlanta had one penalty for 5 yards through 4 quarters. If that is true then the refs really were taking the 'let them play' approach. However, and if that is true, they did so to the detriment of fair play, as is evidenced by the two obvious calls they missed that allowed Atlanta to (a) sustain their final drive and (b) score a TD on it.

That's not conspiracy or favoritism. That's fact.

SAINT_MICHAEL 11-12-2010 02:05 PM

I think it very telling that the game was carried by the NFL network and Millen/Heisman could not stop stroking Ryan's.....ego. I hadn't heard that much "man love" since the Darren Sharper thread we had going around earlier (thank you Mr Magic!). Did anyone notice when Millen said that Ryan reminded him of Manning and Brady (not Brees of course!)? It's obvious to me that the league is trying as hard as they can to push him down our throats as the next "Golden Boy" for the league. It is sad when refs have such an impact on the game like they did for this one.

My favorite was the 15 yard facemask penalty to keep the drive alive when the running back instigated the facemask contact before the defensive player did.

On a different note...how the heck is Millen even qualified to be announcing a game? I guess "utterly failed GM" looks good on an announcer's resume!

That was meant as tongue in cheek, SF.

Okay so we can go back n forth about how calls affected an outcome. And they did blow at least one call, but you know no one uses them as excuses. Baltimore had plenty of opportunities to win that game and - as I said - they were in it despite their poor play.

This one was on the Ravens.

I agree with you in spirit, but when the deciding TD pass was complete BECAUSE the WR shoved the DB down in plain sight of the referee I'm sure, if I was a Raven, I'd have a hard time swallowing that.

I feel the same way.I only saw the last drive of the game.I did see what your talking about though. The Ravens won because they were allowed to cheat right in front of the ref.To have one penalty in the entire game. There's just no way.
