T.O.'s lawyer made it clear -- his client is a man without a team and therefore a man without a paycheck. The judge went one step further, telling T.O. his prospects for a comeback are bleak.
Judge Marmaro said, "His NFL career seems to be over. I mean no disrespect." T.O. nodded his head in acknowledgment.

it's really kind of confusing to me how all these former players making millions of dollars over 10 years and then broke after it's all over...

Guess he didn't plan for retirement...

Well to be fair, TO isn't currently making millions and there fore an adjustment to his child care payments is probably reasonable.

I never gotten that thing that she should get a percentage of what you earn. I mean what makes her entitled? The cost of raising a kid don't just magically incrase if I start earning more money.

Though also to his own undoing, I believe Owens accountant and people he trusted with his money, robbed him dry.

I do not like TO.
This is really a sad story.
Looking at the other side of it, it is really common in the NFL.
Players' Union and players strike, bet they did not address that.
Where to start. TO's first baby mama was getting $240,000 a year. What does she do for a living? Nothing I bet. How many pairs of designer handbags and shoes did she buy yearly out of the child's money? Lots. Was that money properly invested? No.
Was it invested at all as in nice middle class home, decent average car, fund for child? No. Does the mother drive a Range Rover or Escalade?
Don't know, but you bet she sure is not driving a Chevy Malibu. LOL!
Maybe the Players' Union should have during that strike struck up deals with the players and football teams , voluntary basis, to hold these guy's multimillions and parcel it out to them over their lifetime. These NFL players and NBA players, on an average, 24yr. Black guy from a poor family, single mom run household, low income neighborhood, coming from homes, family with no concept of money....
Broke at 30. After they buy the moma a house, pay for kids, fam, friends, bad invests. of a club, rest., car dealership, buy homes, cars, etc. Broke. Most of these guys do not come from places like Micheal Jordan, Grant Hill (his mom roomed with Hillary Rodham (Clinton) at Wellsey ,Hank Basket, Kris Humperies, etc.
It is really sad. The TO's in the NFL are open secrets .

Don't forget...........a POOR man's broke is a negative balance in their BANK ACCOUNT, BAD CREDIT, REPO, and EVICTIONS.....a RICH man's broke is 50 MILLION instead of 100 MILLION!!!!!

$240,000 a yr!!! REALLY!! I have 2 kids that dont eat,drink or wear that much in 18yrs!! I am a firm believer that a man should pay for his children to be raised regardless of if the parents are together or seperated but like OLDMAID says...The money is for the children, not for the mother to get her "hair & nails did" so she looks good driving her escalade! Simply rediculous!!
