Wow, a Jon Kitna article .... IDK whether to thank-you WhoDat!656 or run as hard as I can into the nearest wall, LoL! It is a well known, documented fact that I am not now, nor was I ever, a huge Jon Kitna fan. But, discussion threads pertaining to my team on the Black and Gold are few and far in between, justifiably so, and beggars can't be choosers. I will use every ounce of tact as prescribed in "Joke of the Day (Everything Else community forum) post #189 posted on 1/11/2012 18:44pm", in a sincere effort to add something of value to the thread. Shall we proceed?
In a situation like this, you have to seperate Jon Kitna, the man, from Jon Kitna, the QB. As Jon Kitna the man, I admire him for his career in professional football and wish him fair winds and following seas the rest of his days. He took a licking and kept on ticking in Detroit, and that's mostly where I know him from and will comment on. He did the 'Chumbawamba', got knocked down but got back up again. That alone will endear you to the citizenry of Detroit. Respect.
Now, (you really didn't think I was going to allow Kitna to retire in peace, did ya?) Jon Kitna, the QB. I really think his best years were with the Barcelona Dragons, and then Seattle. His career 169 TDs to 165 INTs kind of sums it up for me. He was 'Tim Tebow' before 'Tim Tebow' was 'Tim Tebow', minus a few of Tim's more desirable traits. But, since this is kinda' his Black and Gold retirement party and I am a guest speaker, I won't bore y'all with details.
Best of luck in your retirement, Mr. Kitna. You went to work every day, you honored your contracts and you took care of your family. I guess that's all that really matters. You gotta' love a scrapper.
..... "And that's all I got to say about that ....."
go Saints.
