Sounds cocky to me
“It’s a football game for us,” Brady said, via the Boston Herald. “It’s the Super Bowl for everyone else. We’re going in there to try and win football games. Put all the distractions aside, and don’t let anything get in the way of our preparation, that’s ultimately what’s most important. This game that everyone will remember for the rest of our lives. Hopefully it’s a good one.”
Tom Brady: It |
Well he has been in five of them, lol....
|
That's just what I was thinking FireVenturi. He's been in so many Superbowls, this IS just another game for him.
|
What did I tell you? It's in my blog ... "Tom Brady plays football for only one reason ... to win SuperBowls" ... if it was anyone else besides Brady, I'd say 'yes', he's being cocky ... but coming from Brady, it doesn't sound all that out of line.
Now, if he loses this one ... |
Go Giants!!! I hate Brady. He's more like a model instead of a QB. Eli is home grown.

1) SloMotion, I love your new avatar picture thing.
2) I don't think this particular statement is all that cocky, but Brady is definitely a self-centered tool. Did you see his interview after the Ravens game? When asked his thoughts about going to the Superbowl he answered something along the lines of "well, I didn't play well today so I hope I play better in a couple of weeks. Oh, and the Ravens are good too, by the way." Compare that to the interview Drew Brees gave after he set the single-season passing record. HIS record, HIS name in the record book, and he didn't talk about himself once. He praised his line, his receivers, the city. He literally said almost NOTHING about himself after setting what is considered an individual record. Brady's team bailed him out all day and he said NOTHING about them. It was all about him. Maybe I'm biased but I thought that was really telling... |
Thanks, I actually got the idea to put a fleur-de-lys in my avatar from AlaskaSaints.
Brady does have that certain something that just rubs you wrong, he's had it since his Michigan days. But that's Tom Brady-the guy. I hated the way he whined about playing time, but you loved how he came in halfway through a game and brought the Wolverines back. That's Tom Brady-the QB. He plays best when he feels he has something to prove, like now. He has to prove he's better then Eli. IDK, I'd say he's cocky ... the guy has three SuperBowl rings, a 96.4 QB rating and a smokin' hot supermodel for a wife ... wonder where he gets it from? Now, Brees/Brady is a whole 'nother thing ... two of the elite's ... but you can't argue the fact you'd rather see your daughter date Drew Brees then Tom Brady ... at least I would. |

I like that Slomotion |
The only chance the Patriots of winning the Super Bowl is if they can protect Brady.
They didn't in the last Super Bowl and we know how that turned out. 34-17 Giants |
... think you hit a wrong key there ... but here's an interesting fact, did you realize that all four of the SuperBowls Brady has played in were decided by 3-pts? He's won three, was MVP in two ... all that and he still ain't dating my daughter ... true story though, my daughter did attend high school with Zack Parise and Sydney Crosby of NHL fame ... they were "big guys" on campus even back then ... one day on an outing, her & her friends were all gushing over those two and that's the first time I used that analogy ... I told her, "You can go to the prom with Zack, but not Sydney" ... not that either one was asking her, I was just being 'proactive', lol! True story.
And while I'm on it, I'm noticing SuperBowl locations and since SuperBowl I, every few years the SuperBowl gets around to New Orleans. And yet, only twice in Michigan ... sounds like some kind of conspiracy ... I mean, I'd like to be able to go to a game in Jan/Feb once in awhile ... hehe! |

...and, ftr...SloMO...while in high school, my daughter's best friend's boyfriend was Lonie Paxton! :) Google it! |
Well, I google'd it and was that ever cool ... he attended games as a kid with his Dad, who's season tickets were right next to where the long-snappers practiced during a game, and he (Paxton) winds up being a long-snapper in the NFL, making long-snaps on several crucial, game-winning kicks in the playoffs and SuperBowl ... what are the odds? ... and .... I'm starting to sense a little bit of animosity towards Tom Brady on the board ... IDK, maybe it's just me ... lol!
