NFL Magazine already DOA
Call me a fool, but several months back (long before the illustrious offseason we've endured) I subscribed to NFL Magazine. Primarily because I thought it would get me through the down time between football. Also because I might end up w/ some decent Saints memorabilia down the road. Today I received a letter stating the following:
Dear valued NFL Fan, Thank you for subscribing to NFL Magazine. We regret to inform you that the April 2012 Special Draft Issue was the final issue of this publication. Enclosed please find a check refunding you for the full amount of your paid subscription. Should you have any further questions regarding your subscription, please contact our customer service team by emailing or calling customer service. Two lousy magazines before the thing tanks? This is the NFL, are you kidding me? C'mon Rodger, better get your act together, jackass. I had already considered ending my subscription, but now I'm glad I didn't. In a way this sucks, I really hate seeing a sport I love so much be driven right into the ground. |
Another Goodell failure!

I was wondering what happen. WOW that was Jonathan Quick

... just got my letter today, it was nice of them to refund the entire subscription price & not prorate it for issues received. I got all but the first one ... had a sinking feeling about the publication & didn't want to order a subscription after seeing Tebow on the inaugral issue, but ordered it after seeing a thread on B&G about it & they were going to interview Ndamukong Suh (as he won't talk to the local media around Detroit because they don't ask him softball questions) ... thought the April Draft Issue was good & was looking forward to getting it this summer ... that's too bad.
When you call this 'another Goodell failure', was he involved in the publication of this magazine? If he was, I'll assume his bungling of things & his association with the magazine are what caused it's demise. |

Starting a new print publication in this day and age was questionable, even for the NFL. As much as I enjoy turning pages, print media is in critical condition ...
